An NOC may have more than two (2) singles players ranked 1 to 8 in the European Ranking List in this event. In such a case, the NOC can enter any two (or one) singles players.     DOSSIER DE PRESSE 26 avril au 1er mai 2016 - Vendéspace CHAMPIONNATS D’EUROPE 2016 LA FRANCE AU SERVICE DU BADMINTON EUROPEEN Les Championnats d’Europe de Badminton ont lieu tous les 2 ans depuis 1968, date de sa première édition. La 24ème édition se déroulera en 2016 en France. Rendez-vous du 26 avril au 1er mai 2016 en Vendée pour une semaine de badminton en folie. La France est, pour la première fois, le pays hôte de cette compétition : « Nous sommes très fiers de la confiance que nous a accordé Badminton Europe. Le savoir faire français en matière d’organisation d’événements est reconnu. L’accueil de ces manifestations s’intègre dans une stratégie globale pour augmenter l’influence de la France dans le concert du badminton international. Nous en profiterons également pour accroître encore la médiatisation de nos champions et de notre sport en général.» Richard REMAUD, Président FFBaD. Après un appel à candidature sur le territoire lancé par la fédération en 2014 pour rechercher « un territoire hôte », c’est le Comité Départemental 85 qui a remporté la mise avec le soutien du Conseil Départemental de Vendée. La fédération sera donc accompagnée par le Comité Départemental 85 pour l’organisation de l’événement dans un complexe ultra moderne, le Vendéspace, situé dans la périphérie Nord de la Roche-Sur- Yon. Sous l’impulsion de son président, Richard Remaud, la FFBaD s’est en effet dotée en 2013 d’une stratégie d’accueil d’événements internationaux.
