Its spectacular front end with its up-to-the-minute lines and features gives a distinctive touch to its shape. There are a host of logos all over this part of the car, with the Red Bull one standing out – this is repeated on the side doors and at the back, and makes up an important part of the decoration on the car. The Aston Martin DBR9's headlights are outlined in black, in a colour scheme which stands out from among other models in this category. There are also two air intakes on the car bonnet, where the eye is drawn to the white lines which run all along the side to the back, giving the impression of wrapping up the car. Nor should the aerodynamically-shaped spoiler and the large bumper projecting from the bottom of the nose be missed. It is strongly recommended to refer to a skilled technician to perform this kind of installation. Upsetting the favored and tried-and-tested Chevrolet applecart by beating the new Corvette C6.Rs, the striking British machine finished fourth overall and first in the GT1 class, and topped it all by setting fastest lap. The Chevrolets took 2nd and 3rd. It was a remarkable result given that Aston Martin Racing was merely hoping for its DBR9s just to finish the grueling event in what was a test and development year; one in which a privateer DBR9 would also go on to win GT1 in the Nürburgring 1000KM and take overall victory in the FIA GT Championship round at Bahrain. Initial development of the DBR9 had only begun late in mid-2004. Aston Martin’s Vantage GT4 clinched three more titles in the British GT Championship finale at Silverstone, ensuring that the luxury sportscar brand’s entry-level 4-litre V8 customer GT car remains unbeaten in the UK-based series since its debut in 2019. Aston Martin Racing partner team TF Sport, and AMR Academy drivers Dan Vaughan and Jamie Caroline triumphed in the GT4 Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships with second place in class after a tough three-hour long Silverstone 500 encounter. The result – the duo’s fourth second place of the season – added to a victory at Snetterton and third place in the season-opening Oulton Park race, ensured they also finished top in the GT4 Silver Cup. Competitive from the outset, Vaughan and Caroline waged a season-long battle with fellow AMR Academy members and team-mates Connor O’Brien and Patrick Kibble, who took two class victories, allowing the team to notch up three class wins and a total of 12 podiums through the campaign. In the end, the champions finished on 170 points with the sister TF Sport entry third on 152.5. The Vantage GT4’s success in Britain mirrors that which it has enjoyed on the continent. -
