Printing paid for by 5/2013 A Message from Michelle A. Taylor President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way of Delaware Dear Friends, Approximately 100,000 Delawareans are without health insurance, and many more are underinsured. Here at United Way of Delaware, health is one of our primary areas of focus, because we know that healthy communities start with healthy individuals. We work with government, nonprofit, and corporate partners to ensure these services are available, and that Delawareans are connected to them. Delaware offers a large range of free and reduced-cost healthcare services, which include: • Prescription medication assistance • Patient navigation services • Transportation to and from medical appointments With this healthcare guide, we are putting those services into your hands. This year, we have added an expanded list of youth services! We hope you utilize these, to ensure that the children in your life, from birth to adolescence, are taking advantage of the full range of resources available to them. For additional information about existing healthcare services, we encourage you to dial 2-1-1 to reach Delaware 2-1-1, Delaware’s new referral line for health and human services.
