Treaty House The Treaty House at Waitangi is the former home of the first British Resident in New Zealand, , and his family. Opening Hours

Open daily except Christmas Day (25th December) & Waitangi Day (6th February) 26 December to 29 February: 9am – 6pm 1 March to 24 December: 9am – 5pm On 6 February (Waitangi Day), the buildings are closed and the grounds are the location of a free public festival. Directions: Waitangi Treaty Grounds are located in the Bay of Islands, just three hours drive north of Auckland. From the nearest town of Paihia we are an easy 25 minute walk along the beachfront or a two minute drive with convenient free parking outside our main entrance.

Waitangi Treaty Grounds receives no operational funding from government or any other external sources and relies on admission fees to take care of the grounds and its heritage buildings.
