SENIORITY RULES: Three seniors grace the roster for this 2015-16 squad, PROJECTED LINEUP: Tom DeVito (Glendale, Ariz.), Riley Nagel (Victor, Mont.), and Travis Smith (Ripon, Calif.) will provide the experience and guidance for the younger members of the team. Nagel and Smith have gotten off on the right foot to begin the 2015-16 regular season, first Nagel won a 17-0 technical fall of Wt. Name Yr. Lindsey saw action at the Bison open as his lost his opening bout to Dylan Connell from MSU-Moorhead by 6-3 decision, but rebounded with a 12-4 major decision over Caleb Radley, again from MSU-Moorhead, but was pinned at the 1:09 mark by Nathaniel Rykerd from NDSU. Keller also competed at the Bison Open, but had his hands full with top-ranked opponents as he was pinned at 53 seconds by Garrett Hoffner from MSU-Moorhead and lost by 13-3 major decision to Tanner Schreifels from Northland College.

SUPER SOPHOMORES: Dane Fischer (Bismarck, N.D.) Jordan Hegel (Missoula, Mont.), Nate Humann (Bismarck, N.D.) and Paul Michaelson (Williston, N.D.) are the sophomores for this team, as Humann is a transfer from NDSU while Fischer, Hegel, and Michaelson begin their second year at U-Mary. Fischer and Michaelson both placed fourth at the Bison Open as Fischer won three matches in a row to get to the third place match before losing by 20-3 technical fall to Marcus Polak from Minot State, while Michaelson lost by sudden victory to Brett Bye from South Dakota State. Fischer and Michaelson both had productive days at the Marauder Duals as Michaelson lost by 3-2 decision to Khaldoon Rashid from Great Falls, but bounced back with a 20-4 technical fall over Blake Perryman from Northern State, while Fischer earned a 9-4 decision over Arram Price from Great Falls, but lost by 11-3 major decision to Grant Steen from Northern State.

FRESH FACES: With so many freshman on the team it can be difficult to have an impact, but Tate Barnhardt (Bismarck, N.D.) and Rudy Guillen (Du- luth, Ga.) are two newcomers that have already made their presence felt. Guillen made a name for himself at the Bison open after placing first in the 141-pound bracket, first by pinning Dimitri Grivas from Minot State at 4:17, followed by a 4-2 decision over Wyatt Becker from NDSU, another pin at 33 seconds over Thomas Walton from NDSU, and won in the championship match over Kristian Vazquez from MSU-Moorhead with a 10-6 decision. Meanwhile, Barnhardt also had a productive day at the Bison Open with a fifth place finish after winning three of his first bouts, all by fall, but lost in the consolation semifinals as Blake Bosch took a 10-3 decision. In his second season at U-Mary, the Marauders finished 1-15 overall and 0-8 in the Northern Sun. Eight Marauder grap- plers were sent to the super regional in Mankato, Minn., with two advancing to the second day, Hunter Menendez and Tom DeVito. One Marauder was named to the NSIC All-Academic team.

In his first season at U-Mary, the Marauders finished 2-10 overall and 1-7 in the Northern Sun. One Marauders grappler earned NSIC All-Academic honors. Two wrestlers, including All-American Trevor Johnson, advanced to the second day of the NCAA regionals.

Aho joined the U-Mary staff after serving two seasons at Minnesota State University. While at Minnesota State Aho worked with hall of fame coaches Jim Makovsky (head coach) and Mike Niemczyk (assistant). During his tenure at MSU, Aho coached four All-Americans and six all-conference wrestlers. The Mavericks finished eigth at the NCAA Division II national championships in 2012-13 after placing 23rd in 2011-12.

As a student-athlete Aho was a four-year starter at North Dakota State University. Graduating in 2009, Aho served as a team captain his senior season. During his prep career at Frazee High School, Aho won a state championship in 2004 and placed a total of three times at the Minnesota Class A State Tournament.
