Accounts Payable/Bookkeeper (Part-Time Temporary)

Camber Property Group LLC is a small, but growing real estate development firm. Its principals have 10+ years’ experience in the acquisition and development of affordable, market rate, and mixed-income properties in NYC.

Camber is a fast-paced company and is seeking someone who operates well in that environment. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, is organized, and detailed. The best candidate will be one with an entrepreneurial spirit and an understanding of affordable housing development.

Camber is looking for a temporary part-time Accounts Payable/Bookkeeper with QuickBooks experience to handle , payments, and duties related to accounts payable. The position will be 2 – 3 days per week. This may increase depending on the work but is not guaranteed. This could be a temp to perm position for the right candidate.

This position reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices while ensuring the appropriate approvals and coding are obtained • Validate that invoices are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation. • Prepare payments and related documentation for entry into QuickBooks system. • Prepare monthly vendor payment run using QuickBooks • Process expense reimbursements including GL coding and prepare for payment • Perform card reconciliations and collect receipts/approvals where necessary • Maintain the accounts payable and track prepaid • Monitor bank account activities • Accurately complete all bookkeeping functions related to accounts payable assignments. • Provide assistance with and special projects, as requested. • Ad-hoc duties to include scanning of relevant invoices and filing of payments and other queries • Conduct other accounts payable tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounts payable and bookkeeping experience • Prior experience with QuickBooks • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Must be able to communicate with vendors, colleagues, and Principals of firm • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with strong attention to detail • Must be very organized and efficient in completing tasks and demonstrate good time management skills during busy and slower periods throughout the work day • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment in dealing with private situations and information.

Education:

• Associates degree with at least 2 years’ /bookkeeping experience or • High School diploma with at least 3 years’ experience required.
