My foster family is teaching me how to walk on a leash and how to play fetch. I'm doing well and like all the attention, but I'm a little lazy. I don't like being left alone, and my favorite activity is snuggling with my humans. I long for a home where someone will love me as much as I'll love them, someone who will feed me (a lot), scratch my back and belly, and play with me. Every weekend we go back to our foster home empty handed. We don't have to be adopted together. It's ok if we are separated. My owners are senior citizens who have health problems and they are finding it difficult to care for me. I’m considered a special needs dog because I will be 15 in March. In 2014, I was diagnosed with Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome (also known as SARDS), which caused immediate blindness in a matter of days. Also, back in 2008, I had an ill- ness that caused my immune system to destroy platelets (they help my blood to clot). There haven’t been any re- occurrences, but my Vet keeps a check on it for me and avoids certain procedures which might trigger a new problem. I was always a typical Jack Russell Terrier; full of energy, loved everybody including other dogs and cats. Unfortunately, the blindness changed my life forever. I do ok with other dogs at doggy daycare or dogs while I’m out for a walk, but I don’t really interact with them much. I can find my way around the house, but MUST be on a leash outside. I like to take walks and I love to take naps (especially on someone's lap), and who doesn’t love to sunbathe. Naps in the sun are my favorite - whether it be inside on the carpet or outside on the grass in a securely fenced yard. I am house-trained and will bark when I need to go out to potty (but I occasionally might have an acci- dent). I am a very special pooch who requires a very special person.
