12 Sussex Recovery College offers free educational courses that focus on mental health and recovery. We design our courses specially to increase your knowledge and skills and help promote self-management.

The aim is to enable you to take control by becoming an expert in your own wellbeing, so you can get on with your life despite mental health challenges whether yours or those of someone close to you.

We serve the whole of West and East Sussex and, in addition to our full adult curriculum, our Discovery College provides courses for young people aged up to 20, their parents and other family members.

Courses are free to adults of all ages. Whether you’re looking to develop your knowledge and skills in self-management, you support somebody with mental health-related chal- lenges, or you work in the mental health services, we’re delighted to welcome you on a learning journey.

Duration: 3 weeks, full-time

Sprint Programmes are three-week intensive ’sector based work academies’ that act as boot camps which will help you secure sustainable employment.

These programmes provide bespoke employability skills to ensure you have the knowledge to pass an application and interview process, hands-on training to mimic the skills you will need in the role you are applying for, and a qualification or skill, paid for by the college, to make you more attractive to an employer.

Reopened Libraries

We have now reopened five libraries in East Sussex - Battle, Hastings, Eastbourne, Newhaven and Crowborough. These were chosen based on size and layout, staffing availability and to ensure there is one library open in each district and borough area. We are not able to offer a full library service due to the need for social distancing.
