'The ‘square’ in Leicester Square is home to a grotto, traditional Christmas market, featuring more than 25 food, drink and christmas gift stalls, and a vintage Spiegeltent – a velvety, wooden venue home to a stocked programme of Christmas shows for all ages brought to you from the Underbelly team.

Founded in 2000 to operate one venue at the Edinburgh Festival, Underbelly has grown to include the Udderbelly and London Wonderground festivals in London, Udderbelly Festival in Hong Kong, as well as an ever-growing programme at the Edinburgh Fringe, Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival, Edinburgh’s Christmas. and of course CHRISTMAS IN LEICESTER SQUARE!

Through Underbelly Productions, we also produce and promote live shows for UK and international touring. Underbelly also produces large scale events, most recently including West End Live, Pride in London and the Rugby World Cup Fanzone in Richmond.

In short, Underbelly is all about entertainment in city centres. In 2015, over 1.3 million people bought tickets to our shows and attractions and we had over 5 million visitors to our events. Our giant upside-down purple cow is now an iconic annual fixture of the London, Edinburgh and Hong Kong skylines.

The build (set-up) and strike (de-installation) periods will run daily from 06.00 to 20.00. The only plant equipment on site will be a telehandler and cherry picker. This plant equipment causes minimal noise and will not cause a disturbance. Percussive sound will only take place between the hours of 06.00 to 18:00

NOISENOISE MANAGEMENTMANAGEMENT PROGRAMMING The programme of events within the Spiegeltent will be the main source of amplified sound within the site and has been structured to ensure that there is minimal noise pollution at anti-social times.

The latest times that the programme will end each day are as follows:

• If an event requires a sound check within the Spiegeltent structure, then the sound check will always be carried out before 19.00. • Please note: Non-standard Timings: From the end of permitted hours on New Year's Eve to 02:00 hours in the morning of New Year's Day

• Signs will be placed at all exits asking customers to leave the Site quietly and without causing a disturbance. Signs will also be placed around the Site to encourage audiences and other customers always to be aware of and considerate to the local residents.

• As all drinks are served into plastic glasses/returnable containers, the amount of glass on site is limited. However, the Duty Manager is to ensure that glassware and bottles are not be disposed of into the waste facilities after 9pm.

• During the Run period, bar deliveries and collections of refuse will be made between 06.00 and 12.00. There are no other significant deliveries expected to be made to the Site during the operational period.
