The win marks Utah Valley head coach Mark Pope’s first 1-0 Higher shooting percentage career victory. New Mexico State was picked to win the league in both polls. UTAHVALLEYWOLVERINES 2 Garrity Named to Preseason All-WAC Team Mark Pope UVU junior Hayes Garrity earned preseason all-WAC second team honors by the coaches. Head Coach Garrity returns to the team after sitting out last season with a medical redshirt. The junior 1st Season at UVU guard played in all 32 games for UVU during the 2013-14 season, helping the Wolverines to 1st Season Overall a WAC regular season title and a first-ever appearance in the NIT. He averaged 8.7 points and Overall Record 1-1 connected on 30 three-point field goals. UMKC guard Martez Harrison was selected as the UVU Record 0-1 preseason Player of the Year in the coaches’ poll, while New Mexico State sophomore forward WAC Record 0-0 Pascal Siakam was selected as the preseason Player of the Year in both the coaches’ poll. UTAHVALLEYWOLVERINES 4 UVU All-Time vs. ABOUT UVU ATHLETICS’ NCAA HISTORY Brigham Young 0-2 America East Conference 2-4 Until 2003, Utah Valley University competed as a NJCAA Great Falls (Mont.) 3-0 Atlantic Sun Conference 0-1 athletic program. The 2003-04 season was the school’s first competing at an NCAA Division I level. In 2004-05, Denver 0-0 Big East Conference 0-2 UVU played it first full Division I schedule. As a program transitioning from junior college to DI, UVU was termed Antelope Valley 0-0 Big Sky Conference 17-23 “provisional” and remained that way until 2009. UVU’S provisional status was lifted and the program became a full Utah State 0-10 Big South Conference 0-2 member of NCAA Division I on July 8, 2009. Until then, UVU teams and individuals were not eligible to compete in NCAA UC Davis 2-1 Big 10 Conference 0-1 championship events.
