The Prairie Horticulture Certificate (PHC) celebrates 25 years of educating horticulture enthusiasts! With more than 700 graduates over the past 25 years, the program continues to be popular for professional and aspiring gardeners alike. This fully online program is focused on the horticultural practices unique to the Prairie Provinces. Also unique, is the collaboration between the colleges and universities of these provinces through a consortium between Olds College (Alber- ta), University of Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan) and Assiniboine Community College (Manitoba). PHC provides all the essential tools to work in the horticulture industry so you can start your own business or advance your career. The PHC is designed as a part-time program with a flexible schedule to accommodate your school and work-life balance. Courses are offered over three 10-week terms per year. Not all courses are offered in every term so be sure to check each specific course offering. The terms start in September, January, and March, with a break during the summer months when most horticulture professionals and enthusiasts are busy. You must complete a minimum of nine courses (equal to 360 hours) to meet the graduation requirements, which takes approximately two years with continuous enrollment.
