For 128 years, Northwestern Settlement has nurtured, educated and inspired our " N O R T H W E S T E R N neighbors through whatever challenges they S E T T L E M E N T I S have faced. Northwestern Settlement has weathered two World Wars, the Great M O R E T H A N A Depression, 22 different political C O M B I N A T I O N O F administrations, and more. Our programs are innovative and dynamic, built to meet S E R V I C E S , I T I S A the diverse needs of the people, families C O M M U N I T Y " and children we serve.

Whether you come to us through our school, food pantry, arts programming, or any one of our programs, there is a place for you at Northwestern Settlement. Because Northwestern Settlement is more than a combination of services, it is a community.

That is what makes us unique and what has allowed us to persevere. It is what allows us to face these unparalleled, extraordinary, unprecedented moments of time with strength, compassion, and hope. What encourages me, and what has always encouraged me, is the support we have received from and therefore been able to pass on to our community. It is a circle of care that keeps our mission moving forward. Relationships are the foundation upon which the Settlement is built.

Northwestern Settlement is made up of so many parts: our neighbors, families, and young people who we serve, our staff who work tirelessly to provide care, and our supporters who make that care possible. We come from different circumstances and walks of life. But our differences are what make this community strong. They allow each of us to have a unique purpose and role in the community we have built. Like all of you, I look forward to the future when we can safely meet as a community once more.

This year has taught us that we cannot expect to succeed alone. Apart, we are separate pieces of a larger puzzle and it is tough to see the bigger picture. Together, we are strong. Together, we can change lives.

Together, we are: One Settlement.

The Food Pantry has seen a 400% increase in services. We have added additional days for distribution and increased our volunteer outreach. Distribution has been moved outdoors and will continue to operate outside through the fall months. Since April, our dedicated staff and volunteers have distributed over 8,000 boxes of food, serving over 10,000 families and 30,000 people.

Family CARES continues to provide free, bilingual mental health services using online teletherapy. We were able to retain 95% participation in services online. To bridge the transition to teletherapy, Family CARES staff are working to distribute customized, at-home Therapy Kits. These kits include therapeutic materials such as journals, art supplies, therapy games as well as the technological resources necessary for at home sessions.

Our After School childcare program has transitioned to a full day schedule. Scholars are able to complete their remote work with support from staff while parents are able to work, knowing their kids are safely cared for. As such, we have increased our cleaning and equipment protocols to ensure safety for our students and staff. P R O G R A M S P A G E 0 4

Over one thousand students at Rowe have transferred to online remote learning. We have distributed laptops and headphones to every student to make sure they have the supplies they need to reach for excellence in their education. We have implemented a hybrid model of in person and remote learning for our special education scholars and as such have increased our cleaning and equipment protocols to ensure safety for our students and staff.

Early Childhood Education has resumed in person childcare and education, preparing children and families to be kinder-ready through a comprehensive support system. Between March and August we spent almost $70K on equipment, enhanced cleaning and updating protocols to 1 , 0 3 6 R O W E S C H O L A R S ensure our youngest scholars have a safe place to learn. 7 2 E A R L Y C H I L D H O O D E D U C A T I O N S T U D E N T S P R O G R A M S P A G E 0 5

House In The Wood made the tough decision to close summer camp. Our staff have also been working on crucial updates to grounds and buildings. House In The Wood provides an invaluable opportunity for young people to connect with nature and retreat from the many pressures of young adulthood.

AmeriCorps Project YES! members provided over 17,000 hours of community service. Our members were instrumental in providing care when COVID-19 hit, distributing food at the pantry, working in our schools, and checking in on our golden agers. Adventure Stage Chicago was able to transfer the Trailblazer's Summer Camp to a remote format, working with kids across Chicago to create digital content and tell their own stories.
