Amazon is a customer-obsessed company and we appreciate your interest in the important topic of underage tobacco use. Below we have highlighted the tools that we provide customers to select appropriate content for their households. We are available to discuss these issues further with your offices if you have any questions. Today, the Amazon Prime Video catalog available to customers in the United States contains tens of thousands of titles, including Amazon Originals as well as third-party licensed movies and television series from content providers around the world. Our content selection is always changing; due to the size and dynamic nature of our catalog and the lack of an industry standard mechanism for identifying tobacco-specific data within content, we are unable to provide a title by title assessment on the presence of tobacco imagery or dialogue. However, individual maturity ratings are displayed on the detail page for the title within the catalog. Amazon Prime Video’s goal is to deliver the broadest selection of premium content to our customers to stream, purchase, or rent while also ensuring that we provide the information necessary to allow customers to make informed decisions about what content is appropriate for them and their households.

It goes into crisis. The analytic, psychological, and libidinal structures of 20th century revolutionary politics were beholden to the temporal form of the future – it even gave the name to the first movement of the avant-garde: Futurism. The future was on the side of the revolution. It was a great and empowering myth, but few believe it any longer: the future is over. Its last vestiges were squandered in the schemes of a heavily futurized financial capitalism.

  • Demographic Characteristics of Those Who Post to Online Comment Sections
social sciences $€ £ ¥ Article Angry and Alone: Demographic Characteristics of Those Who Post to Online Comment Sections Michael Artime Department of Politics & Government, Pacific Lutheran University, 12180 Park Avenue South, Tacoma, WA 98447, USA; [email protected]; Tel.: +1-509-279-8979 Academic Editor: Terri Towner Received: 30 June 2016; Accepted: 18 October 2016; Published: 26 October 2016 Abstract: The Internet and social media afford individuals the opportunity to post their thoughts instantaneously and largely without filters. While this has tremendous democratic potential, it also raises questions about the quality of the discourse these technological changes portend. Online comment sections may be a particularly unique form of communication within social media to investigate because of their ubiquitous and often anonymous nature. A longitudinal examination of Pew Center data over the course of 4 years suggests that there are demographic differences between people who post and those who do not post to online comment sections. Specifically, in 2008 and 2010 regression analysis demonstrates there is an increased likelihood of posting among men, the unmarried, and the unemployed. However, the 2012 data tells a different story and suggests the possibility that the nature of comment sections might be changing. The findings have important implications for understanding the character of online discourse as well as the vitriol undergirding the political attitudes of disaffected citizens. Keywords: social media; new media; internet; political participation; civic participation; elections; campaigns; politics; mass media 1. Introduction In a 2011skit, the popular sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, portrayed a conversation between individuals who post to online comment sections and the objects of their scorn.
