  • Trans-Baykal (Rusya) Bölgesi'nin Coğrafyasi
International Journal of Geography and Geography Education (IGGE) To Cite This Article: Can, R. R. (2021). Geography of the Trans-Baykal (Russia) region. International Journal of Geography and Geography Education (IGGE), 43, 365-385. Submitted: October 07, 2020 Revised: November 01, 2020 Accepted: November 16, 2020 GEOGRAPHY OF THE TRANS-BAYKAL (RUSSIA) REGION Trans-Baykal (Rusya) Bölgesi’nin Coğrafyası Reyhan Rafet CAN1 Öz Zabaykalskiy Kray (Bölge) olarak isimlendirilen saha adını Rus kâşiflerin ilk kez 1640’ta karşılaştıkları Daur halkından alır.

  • Geological Structural Criteria of Karst Assessment in Urbanized Territories
Global View of Engineering Geology and the Environment – Wu & Qi (eds) © 2013 Taylor & Francis Group, London, ISBN 978-1-138-00078-0 Geological structural criteria of karst assessment in urbanized territories V.N. Kataev & I.G. Ermolovich Perm State National Research University, Perm, Russia ABSTRACT: Geologic environmental condition issues within the limits of the urbanized territories located in areas of karst rock development are of particular importance. The characteristic feature of these territories is the development of hazardous, dynamically developing deformation phenomena (chasm) in the bases of buildings and constructions that leads to taking engineering objects out of service. While practicing prediction of karst there are often situations when it is necessary to give a substantiation of stability of the limited area. Similar situations are typical in cases of additional development of active industrial zones or urban building plots. For non-karst professionals all territory of the site appears to be hazardous and inadaptable for development. In its turn, for karst experts the difficulty of solving the problem is in territory limitations. Here are presented almost identical structural-geological and hydro- geological conditions, the relief is changed, karstic rock exposure is absent. This demands application of non-traditional ap proaches to karst analysis. The analysis of geologic structure features of the terri- tory, expressed quantitatively, and its further spatial comparison to units with karstic forms development allows carrying out quantitative and qualitative prediction of karst with a high degree of confidence. 1 INTRODUCTION Steady tendency of increasing losses due to danger- ous natural and industrial processes including karst raise a topical issue of necessity to develop novel methods of public safety control based on prelimi- nary identification, forecasting, risk analysis.

  • On Distribution of Lampyris Noctiluca (Linnaeus, 1767) (Coleoptera, Lampyridae) in the Amur Region

Lampyris noctiluca (Linnaeus, 1767) (Coleoptera, Lampyridae) covers an extensive transpalaearctic range (Medvedev & Ryvkin 1992; Geisthardt & Sato 2007; Kazantsev 2010, 2011) with unclear boundaries of distribution on the periphery. The eastern sector of the range has been studied the least. Until recently, from the Amur region (within the borders of the Amurskaya oblast' and Khabarovskii krai of Russia) three points of collection of L. noctiluca were known. However, this which does not give a detailed idea of the range of the species in this region (Kazantsev 2010) (Fig. 1). Our research provided material from the basins of the Amur and Uda rivers, which significantly clarifies the northern boundary of distribution in the eastern sector of the range of Lampyris noctiluca. Lampyris noctiluca is also firstly recorded for the Heilongjiang province in China and the Evreiskaya avtonomnaya oblast' in Russia.

How to use the Atlas The Atlas has two map sections The Main Section shows the location of Russia’s intact forest landscapes. The Thematic Section shows their tree species composition in two different ways. The legend is placed at the beginning of each set of maps. If you are looking for an area near a town or village Go to the Index on page 153 and find the alphabetical list of settlements by English name. The Cyrillic name is also given along with the map page number and coordinates (latitude and longitude) where it can be found. Capitals of regions and districts (raiony) are listed along with many other settlements, but only in the vicinity of intact forest landscapes. The reader should not expect to see a city like Moscow listed. Villages that are insufficiently known or very small are not listed and appear on the map only as nameless dots. If you are looking for an administrative region Go to the Index on page 185 and find the list of administrative regions. The numbers refer to the map on the inside back cover. Having found the region on this map, the reader will know which index map to use to search further. If you are looking for the big picture Go to the overview map on page 35. This map shows all of Russia’s Intact Forest Landscapes, along with the borders and Roman numerals of the five index maps. If you are looking for a certain part of Russia Find the appropriate index map. These show the borders of the detailed maps for different parts of the country.

Vilyuiskaya 28, Novosibirsk 630126 Russia email: [email protected] Received June 23, 2013 Abstract—The paper discusses he dynamics of the cycles of longmonitored (1971–2012) wood grouse pop ulation inhabiting the experimental unit of the AllRussia Research Institute of Game Management and Fur Farming, as well as the dynamics of the cycles of 12 other populations in the Novosibirsk region that were sub ject to monitoring from 2000 to 2012. The population sizes were estimated using annual walkthrough surveys conducted according to uniform methods. The chronograms were tested for latent harmonic components. The districts involved in the walkthrough survey were attributed the spectra of population dynamics and eval uated in terms of periods and the power of the harmonic components of each spectrum. It was identified that the spectrum of the population dynamics was comprised of eight pronounced harmonic components differing in amplitude and power; the most powerful components referred to periods of 4.5 and 14.9 years. The rela tionship between the rate and the power of the dynamics of the wood grouse population cycles differs depend ing on the district of the Novosibirsk region.
