Question: What is the last day to register to Vote? Answer: The Last day to register is Friday, October 9, 2020 Note: You may also Register and Vote at the Same time during Early Voting (10/15-10/31)

Question: Do I need photo ID to vote? Answer: No, photo ID is not required.

Question: What are the Early Voting Dates? Answer: Early voting is scheduled Thursday, October 15, 2020 (8am) - Saturday, October 31, 2020 (7pm).

You may also walk into the Board of Elections office on Kenilworth Avenue until Friday, October 31, 2020.

Question: When will I receive my Ballot? Answer: The Board of Election will began mailing Absentee Ballots on September 4, 2020

Question: Who can be a witness? Answer: Anyone can be a witness who is over 18 years of age, not a politician, elected official or governmental officer.

Question: What is the deadline for submitting the Absentee Ballot? Answer: The completed Absentee ballot must be received by the Board of Elections by 5pm on Election Day, November 3, 2020. If mailed, it must be postmarked by Election Day (11/3/2020) and received by 5 pm on November 6, 2020.

Question: How can I make sure that my Ballot is delivered to the Board of Elections? Answer: There are four options: (1) Deliver the ballot to the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections, 714 Kenilworth Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204. (2) Deliver your ballot to any of the Early Voting sites (3) Mail the ballot to Mecklenburg County Board of Elections, P. O. Box 31788, Charlotte, NC 28231 (4) Log onto BallotTrax to see the status of your ballot.

Question: Where can I check to be sure my Absentee Ballot was received? Answer: Contact your county board of elections- Mecklenburg County 704-336-2133 or log onto BallotTrax.

Question: May I return the completed Absentee ballot for another person? Answer: Yes, but only if that person is your spouse, brother, sister, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, stepparents, or legal guardian.

Question: If I received my ballot by mail, may I still vote in person? Answer: Yes. You may still vote in person if you did not return your absentee ballot.

Question: Will I be notified if my Absentee Ballot is rejected? Will I have a chance to fix the problem? Answer: Yes, you will be contacted by the board of election. If the voter is unable to correct or cast an Absentee ballot, the voter may still vote during the in-person early voting period or on Election Day.

Question: What prevents a person from voting absentee and then voting in-person? Answer: The check-in system will alert the poll worker that the person has already voted.

Question: May my spouse be my witness? Answer: Yes

Question: May my spouse and I place our Absentee ballots in the same envelope? Answer: No. The return ballot envelope is specific to each voter and must contain that voter’s ballot.
