Year of the DJS: DJ Spinall Is Winning with The Year of the DJS: DJ Spinall is winning with DJ the recognition, his art, SPINALL music and the CAP. The entertainment scene is changing and one of those leading that change is influential DJ, DJ Spinall. It’s been a long time coming for the trailblazing DJ Spinall since he started bagging endorsements in 2015 and in 2018, the powerhouse is still at the peak of making things happen. Following collaborations with industry heavyweights on singles and his EP, DJ Spinall got off the ground and gathered momentum. The momentum he gathered led to special recognitions, endorsements and awards. DJ Spinall continues to lead the pack and already has a lot of firsts to show for it: the first Nigerian DJ to be endorsed by any brand in Africa, the first African DJ to tour in the US, and the first African DJ to perform at the SXSW Festival in the United States. DJ Spinall is working hard to build his personal brand while ensuring that the music part that shot him to limelight does not suffer. His art continues to soar and the cap we have all come to associate with him continues to stand him out. Nigerian Afrosoul Queen, Aramide is the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the Upstream Music Festival in Seattle. The winner of the Alternative Music award at the 12th Headies Award was the only Nigerian in a line-up that had over 200 artists worldwide. Thrilling music fans worldwide to beats fans have come to know and love, Aramide took the global stage by storm and completely owned it with fans applauding her performance. Days before the festival, tickets to her performance went on sale on various ticketing platforms and it wasn't a surprise that fans were eager to watch the talented and award winning singer do what she knows best: sing. Aramide's popularity soars with each song release and her fan base continues to shoot up with many drawn to her style of music combined with a love for her fans and a down-to-earth nature that endears her to even the most hardened of critics. LOTACHUKWU Lota Takes: Season 2 Debuts Nigeria's exciting food show, Lota Takes is returning for a second season. Anchored by popular Nollywood actress, Lota Chukwu, Lota Takes rallied a lot of viewers in its debut season with its simplicity and choice of guests. The food show centres around Lota Chukwu as she visits her celebrity friends and cooks whatever she finds in their kitchen. Combining humour and good cooking, the show whose first episode was released in November 2017 went on to become a favourite of food enthusiasts and movie fans and it is a delight that it is returning for a second season. The first season featured the likes of Adekunle Gold, Afro Soul Queen, Aramide, celebrity blogger, Olorisupergirl, amongst others and saw food like: Spagetti, Yam and fish sauce, Fried rice, cooked on the show. This means that the benchmark interest rate (MPR) remains unchanged at 13.5%pa, the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) at 22.5% pa, Liquidity Ratio at 30% pa and asymmetric corridor at +200bps/-500bps. The Committee’s decision was premised on the need to fully ascertain the impact of the new Loan to Deposit ratio (65%) as well as other regulatory measures. The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele acknowledged the impact of the closure of Nigeria’s land borders on headline inflation (now at 11.61%) and food inflation (now at 14.09%). However, the Governor expects the impact to be transient. Nigeria’s MPC followed the same trend of other Central Banks in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and the Bank of Ghana (BoG) also kept their benchmark interest rates unchanged at their respective MPC meetings. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expands to 2.28% in Q3’19 According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria’s GDP expanded to 2.28% in Q3’19 from a revised growth of 2.12% in Q2’19. This brings the average growth rate so far in 2019 to 2.2%. A further breakdown of the report shows that the fastest growing sectors were interest rate sensitive and job-elastic sectors.
