Answer: We had 8 Wins and only 2 Loses in our Inaugural Season last year. Our goal is to bring the 1st Professional Championship home to the City of Dayton and make the Dayton Sharks a household name in the community! Question: When is your season? Answer: Our season begins in mid February and goes through mid May. Question: Who owns the team? Answer: The team is owned by a former Procter and Gamble employee and local business owner; Corwyn Thomas. The parent company is CA Sports and Entertainment LLC or C.A.S. E. Mr. Thomas also owns a luxury men’s neckwear company supplying 200 Dillard’s Department stores nationwide. Question: Who is Corwyn Thomas Answer: Mr. Thomas is the majority owner and Managing General Partner of the Dayton Sharks. He is also a former P&G Employee and a Degreed Accountant. Mr. Thomas is involved in several other business ventures. Question: What is the team’s record? Answer: We finished the regular season with 8 Wins and 2 Loses. We had one Post Season loss in the 1st Round of the Playoffs. Question: How many teams are in your league? Answer: There are 10 teams in the CIFL (Continental Indoor Football League). Question: What does the CIFL stand for? Answer: Continental Indoor Football League. It’s essentially the Arena Football League of the Midwest. Question: Who won the Championship last season? Answer: The Erie Explosion (in Pennsylvania) Question: Who is your starting Quarterback? Answer: Tommy Jones, a Dayton (Eaton) native. Tommy went to Indiana University (IU) and he was a backup QB behind Carson Palmer in his rookie season with the Bengals. Tommy was the Offensive Player of the Year in our League. 1 Question: Where do the players come from? Answer: We have players from all over the US as well as our fair share of local talent from Ohio Sate, UC, and UD and Miami University. Some of the players for whatever reason didn't quite make it to the next level but still have a love for the game. By playing here, it gives them the opportunity to get a second look and perhaps a chance to move up and play in the “Big Show”. Question: How much do players get paid? Answer: Our players get paid between $50-$500 per game. Most of the players have full time jobs and they really play for the love of the game, not for the paycheck. They’re stretch goal is to play at the next level. Question: How many games do you play in a season? Answer: We play 10 Regular Season games (5 Home and 5 Away) and 2 Playoff games. Question: Who’s running the team? Answer: LaVar Glover is the General Manager (GM). He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and later played for the Cincinnati Bengals. LaVar also won a Championship in the CFL (Canadian Football League). He is bringing on several former NFL Players to his coaching staff. This clearly adds more credibility to what we doing here in Dayton to Win a Championship! Question: Which uniform is the “Home” Jersey? Answer: Our home jerseys are black with the City Seal of Dayton. Question: Why the name Sharks? Answer: Good question… Most teams in this area have something to do with aviation, but the ownership group wanted to go with a more aggressive mascot like the “Shark”. It really speaks to our aggressive play calling on Offensive and our Defensive Attack on opposing teams. This allowed us to develop great marketing “sound bites” i.e. Welcome to the Shark Tank Blood in the Water Shark Attack Got Fins? Question: Where do you play your home games? Answer: Our home games are played at the Legendary Hara Arena! Everyone who’s anyone has played or performed there. George W. Bush, our 43rd US President even held a Presidential Campaign Speech at Hara Arena. Question: What is your average attendance per game? Answer: We actually set an attendance record at Hara Arena at our first ever home game! We are averaging nearly 3,000 fans (FINS) Per Game, according to the Dayton Daily News. That’s amazing for a 1st year team in Dayton! Question: What are the team colors? Answer: Caribbean Sea Blue, Metallic Silver, and Black 2 Question: How long will the Dayton Sharks be around considering how often teams come and go? Answer: The Dayton Sharks will be here as long as they welcome by the great City of Dayton. As you know, the success and the stability of a team is directly connected to how much the community supports its own. I need your help in making this the success that we ALL want it to be! Question: How many players are on a team? Answer: The game is played 8 players on Offense Vs 8 on Defense. We carry an active roster of 19 players. Question: What is the difference between Arena (Indoor) Football Vs NFL? Answer: 8 on 8, Vs 11 on 11. The field is 50 Yards Vs 100 Yards. We play in the same space as hockey. We don’t punt, but we do kick field goals. There are a few rule changes, but that’s essentially the major differences. Question: Do you focus on Kids like the Dayton Dragons baseball team? Answer: Baseball and Football are two entirely different sports. Indoor football is a fast pace, hard hitting, high scoring sport. We provide entertainment that is fun and affordable for the entire family to enjoy! Question: How much are tickets? Answer: Season Tickets are $60 and Single Game Tickets are $15 for the Hot Seats, $12 for Corners/End Zone, and $6.50 Kids. Question: Why do you have a “513” number, but you are Dayton team? Answer: Our HQ is in Cincinnati, but we do have office space at Hara Arena. The ownership team runs several businesses are out of their Cincinnati Office, and the Dayton Sharks are one of those businesses. Question: Are you looking for additional investors?
