Widespread use of herbicide-resistant corn and soybeans has resulted in the loss of more than 100 million acres of monarch habitat in the past few years.

To offset the loss of milkweeds and nectar sources, the University of Kansas has developed the Monarch Wayside program, which encourages people to cultivate monarch-sustaining plants on their property.

One of the tenets of the Odd Fellows, is to improve the world in which we live. Beginning in spring, 2019, sections of our beautiful property in New Columbia will be planted with native milkweed and flowers to support this program. In addition to supporting the monarch, it will also create an environment where folks and children can come see, and learn, about these amazing butterflies.

Greetings Patriarchs, Now that we’re in October, it’s that magical time of year again...Rally Season! This is a great time for everyone to attend the rallies of your respective branches and really brush up on your knowledge and practices. This is why I urge all Patriarchs, new and old, to join the Grand Encampment on October 13th at Vienna Hall in Allentown for our Fall Rally. Even those of you that aren’t bringing new members, please bring yourselves and either help out during the degrees, or even sit for a refresher course yourself. I’m also encouraging any Encampments with incoming new members to accompany them on their next journey of CONNOQUENESSING LODGE Odd Fellowship, as it will be quite a “Rough Road”. #278 ANNUAL FAMILY PICNIC Hope to see you in Allentown!
