Future Cavaliers cap off undefeated season with tournament championship By Jackson Wilson The beauty of perfection is official- ly in the air for the seventh and eighth grade girls’ soccer team. After earn- ing the top seed, Carlinville overcame cold and windy weather conditions and dominated Hillsboro 3-0 in the league tournament’s championship match at Staunton – a perfect con- clusion to a memorable undefeated season that was full of several close game victories and lots of laughs. “This season was a huge success. I am proud to have been able to keep the core of the team together for our local community sports. There are so many great young local athletes that are choosing to play for select teams generally based in other towns. I am going to truly miss all of the girls and parents but we all look forward to them moving toward high school sports,” said head coach Greg Whit- ler.
