XIN CHÀO (HELLO)

Food is everything to our family. It’s what we laugh, cry and bond over, and have done so since we were kids. Through Roll’d, we aim to share the things that matter most to us - great food and memorable experiences.

We’re not shy in saying we have big dreams. We have led the way in bringing Vietnamese food to the masses, making it a popular dining option in Australia, with flavours that are as vibrant as the bustling streets of Saigon.

If you’re as passionate and committed to the journey ahead as we are, I look forward to welcoming you into the Roll’d family.

Bao Hoang PAGE 5 Co-founder and CEO Roll’d Australia // ROLL’D FRANCHISE GUIDE OUR STORY

THE ENTREPRENEUR, THE SUIT AND MR. HOSPITALITY

Bao Hoang grew up with a monstrous appetite for his mother’s traditional Vietnamese home cooking. With experience working as a franchisee, Bao’s passion for entrepreneurship combined with his love of food, family and heritage inspired the idea for Roll’d.

Enlisting school friend and suited banker, Ray Esquieres, was the first natural step. With extensive experience from his time at JP Morgan, The Suit had all the skills required to become the Roll’d operations guru.

Next came Mr. Hospitality, Tin Ly, to complete the winning trifecta. Tin grew up working in his family’s Vietnamese bakery and, along with hands-on hospitality experience, he brought his family’s specialty – the Bánh Mì – to the mix.

On the opening day of the first Roll’d store, the three were very proud of the organised chaos they had created with their rice paper rolls selling out in just one and a half hours!

Fast forward to today, with over 75 stores across six states and territories and international expansion in the works, the Roll’d Vietnamese phenomenon shows no sign of slowing down! PAGE 6 PAGE //

Our food is inspired by Bao and Tin’s mothers, Mama Hoang and Mama Ly, who on top of working 18-hour days to create a better life for their families, found joy in creating simple, honest, memorable meals.

Vietnamese food is one of the healthiest cuisines in the world, and our menu has been designed to provide variety and value-for-money, so customers can enjoy eating with us multiple times a week.

Guided and quality-tested by Mama Hoang and Mama Ly, we’re always looking to innovate, while staying true to the essence of Vietnamese food – balanced, vibrant, and unbelievably flavoursome!

We love getting to share with everyone the recipes our mums have refined over the years, such as the traditional Vietnamese dipping sauce Nước Mắm and Vietnam’s famous national dish, Phở - in fact Mama Hoang still makes the Phở spice pack that is distributed to all stores. “QUA NHỮNG CÔNG THỨC VỀ THỰC PHẨM GIA TRUYỀN, MÓN PHỞ VÀ CHẢ GIÒ LÀ HAI MÓN MÀ CÁC CHÁU NỘI CỦA CHÚNG TÔI THÍCH NHẤT!”

At Roll’d, we know we can’t change the world, but that doesn’t mean we can’t change lives for the better. Our dream is to give as many people as possible the chance to experience what we had growing up – the simple pleasures and happy memories that come from good food and good company. We have partnered with Blue Dragon, an Australian-run charity based in Vietnam that helps kids in crisis with this goal in mind. Eric has always had a hunger to achieve great success in business. A hard worker from a young age, Eric got his start at McDonald’s where he quickly progressed from team member to manager. While doing so, Eric was busy saving to step out on his own. In 2017, he joined the Roll’d family, ready to take on the world!

Now 29-years-old, Eric is a franchisee of two Roll’d locations and one of our Roll’d Brand Champions, working closely with the head office team to develop new products and systems to be implemented nationwide.

“AFTER A FEW MEETINGS, IT JUST BECAME CLEAR THAT THIS WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE. THIS WAS WHERE I WANTED TO DEVELOP MYSELF, IMPROVE MYSELF EVERY DAY AND I THINK MORE IMPORTANTLY, ENJOY MYSELF EVERY DAY. NOW I WORK WITH 50 PEOPLE IN MY STORES, AND EVERY DAY I WAKE UP, IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT WHAT I’M GOING TO DO FOR MYSELF, BUT WHAT I CAN DO FOR MY PEOPLE.” PAGE 19 – ERIC HA – // ROLL’D FRANCHISE GUIDE OUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Franchise systems are like a marriage – it is important that both parties (franchisor and franchisee) set expectations, communicate clearly and continually add value to each other. And, like any happy marriage, it should also involve enjoying lots of great food together!

THE RIGHT FRANCHISE MODEL

Business format franchising is where the franchisor (E.g. Roll’d) develops a unique and comprehensive business system and permits a franchisee (E.g. hopefully you!) to use that method within set boundaries and standards.

The franchisee is an independent businessperson and employer, who is permitted to ‘plug into’ the franchisor’s proven system, know-how, goodwill and reputation to create their own success, whilst upholding the brand. Franchising allows you to be in business for yourself, not by yourself.

Can I get help to finance my Roll’d store? Yes. The benefits of becoming a Roll’d franchisee are that as an established business, we have great relationships with select lenders that we can put you in touch with.

Where can I open a Roll’d store? We are growing fast and eager to open stores in every capital city of Australia. If you feel you have the right location, let us know and we can work together to make it happen.

Can I own more than one Roll’d store? Yes. Once you have proven yourself to be capable of upholding the brand standards and policies, creating a profitable and sustainable business, we will happily give you the opportunity to purchase existing or new stores.

Do I have to personally manage my store? Yes. We are an owner/operator franchise system. At least one partner has to maintain a 50% ownership in the operating company and must be involved full-time in day-to-day operations.

Is it essential that I have food and/or retail experience? While such experience is helpful, it is not a requirement. Most people in the restaurant business today came from totally unrelated fields without any intention of owning a restaurant. Our extensive training program and the ongoing guidance from our management team prepares you adequately to manage and operate your own store.

How much can a Roll’d store earn? The amount of money you earn depends on many factors, including how well you manage your store and control variable costs, business development activities, the cost of your investment and other unique circumstances. As a new franchisee, it is important to have realistic expectations about the initial income you’ll be earning and to keep in mind that continued commitment and effort achieves ongoing success. PAGE 39 How long does it take to open a Roll’d store?

On average, it will take 8 - 12 weeks from the time you sign the franchise contract // and lease, to the time you open your doors. Please also factor in the time to find a suitable location and organise all details with local councils and all other entities.
