Even if our year was cut short, they should be very proud, as I am, of their accomplishments over the 2019-2020 training year. BRAVO ZULU!

Deployments

RCSCC HARWOOD was fortunate to have four cadets participate in Deployments this past year:

 Sea Cadet Seamanship Deployment – CPO2 Emilie Comeau, PO1 Maegan Hayward, PO1 Skye Pinto  Domestic Tall Ship Deployment – PO1 Abbie Hood

PO1 Hood was fortunate to be on the last deployment that took place before the pandemic shutdown this year. Unfortunately, CPO2 Caleb Comeau was scheduled to participate in a French language Seamanship Deployment the following week, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Going "Over the Side"

In the Navy, and hence in Sea Cadets, when one reaches the end of their career (based on reaching age 19 or by virtue of their post-secondary educational pursuits) one is said to be going “over the side”.

Today will be the last ceremonial parade for two cadets who have had long careers at RCSCC HARWOOD over the last several years and who currently occupy senior cadet leadership positions in the corps. Between leadership appointments, team participation, extra-curricular involvement and long term commitment to the corps, they will certainly be missed.

With that, we would like to say a fond farewell and good luck to Chief Petty Officer First Class Spencer Holmes, Chief Petty Officer Second Class Emilie Comeau and Petty Officer First Class Shane Mallia. Bravo Zulu on your successful cadet careers.

WITH THANKS…

Every year RCSCC HARWOOD depends on others to donate equipment, their time, and specialty training, to help us travel or prepare for special events. Without these people, the staff would not be able to concentrate on what is important …the Cadets. This year we would like to extend a special Thank You to those who have helped us out, in one way or another, during the 2019/2020 training year.
