Dear Grenfell Tower Leaseholder’s Association,

Many thanks for your emailo

We are all shocked by the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower. Our thoughts are with those who were affected by the fire, and we are grateful to the emergency services who responded so rapidly and bravely.

As Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party said in a recent speech "Our love, our condolences and our solidarity goes out to those families again today and in the difficult days and weeks ahead.

They were, as the Prime Minister has said, let down: both in the immediate aftermath and so cruelly beforehand. And the public inquiry must establish the extent and by whom.

Lessons must be learned in the public inquiry and a disaster that never should have happened must never happen again. The Government must delay no longer and now implement the recommendations of the 2013 inquiry report following the Lakanal House fire.

The public inquiry into Grenfell Tower must also establish whether lives could have been saved if those recommendations had been implemented in full and if the recommendations of the All-Party Parliamentary Group had been heeded by Government."

Labour in Government acted to require the fitting of sprinklers on new high-rise buildings. We also launched a new fire safety protocol in 2007 and updated guidance in 2008, but it’s clear now that more needs to be done.

Best wishes,

This email ori{~inates external to The Labour Party network. Dear CIIr Rock Feilding-Mellen, CIIr Paget-Brown, Laura Johnson,

It has been over 10 days and I am still homeless after the Grenfell Towering Inferno.

The Housing Options Service team, after countless days of chasing, finally offered a property to view today, which was a disgusting slum and a real insult to my situation.

My leasehold flat has been turned to rubble and dust and you want to move me into a revolting property, with no furniture and urine stains on the carpet. This is an outrage and is truly sickening. I do not know how you all sleep at night treating people like this. The hallway felt like a death trap with no/limited lighting and the property had a smell that made me want to vomit.

]nent trauma and flashbacks of the fire resulting in~ We have been treated like we are destitute, before and after the Towering Inferno. My family are a and in fact my son went to the City of London School and is now a Management Consultant. Treat us like people not pests!

An apology is no longer a remedy. I expect a roof over my head which meets our requirements tomorrow without fail. I have lost my patience after all that I have gone through and lost.
