PROCESSIONS : TRANSPORT GUIDANCE

Participants are encouraged to use public transport where possible. Please note that due to the nature of the event and the need to close roads for the PROCESSION to take place, there will be diversions in place and additional congestion in .

GETTING TO THE START

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT Marble Arch, Bond Street, Hyde Park Corner are within a 10 minute walk of the starting point.

Green Park (step free) is within a 15 minute walk of the starting point.

The closest mainline station to the starting point is Victoria Station. Check your journey before you travel at: tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/

There are planned part closures on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Overground lines. Please click here for further details.

As the bus network will be disrupted and re-routed during the road closures, please ensure you research local bus services before you travel: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/

BY COACH Due to the large number of people expected at PROCESSIONS and the road closures in place to facilitate the event, Central London coach parking will be limited and it is expected that the roads will be extremely busy.

We suggest your coach parks outside of Central London and you travel to and from your coach parking location to the starting point and finishing point using the network.

We suggest that your coach parks for the day at the following places, where we have reserved a number of coach bays for your use. Booking directly, in advance is essential and coach bays will be available on a first come first serve basis. You will need to leave at least an hour to travel from the following coach parks to the start.

Onward travel to PROCESSIONS starting point (Park Lane): Take the Jubilee Line from North (step-free), change at Bond Street Station to the Central Line, and travel to Marble Arch station. From there walk less than 10 minutes to the starting point. Or, take the Jubilee Line from North Greenwich Station to Green Park (step-free) and travel less than 15 minutes to Park Lane.

You can also make use of the River Bus services from North to make your way westbound. Visit the Thames Clipper website for timetables and routes, where you can also make use of a special PROCESSIONS discount, provided by Thames Clipper services. For 40% off their standard fare from , pre-book your ticket online from and use special code GWV100 to receive your discount.

Coming from the East / North Here East, Multi-Storey Car Park, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Eastway, London, E9 5JH Please call 0208 536 2752 to pre-book your coach parking space. Price: Between £35 and £48 depending on length of stay.

Onward travel to PROCESSIONS starting point (Park Lane): Your coach can drop you off outside before making its way to the car park.

Take the Central Line from Stratford Station (step-free) to Marble Arch and walk less than 5 minutes to Park Lane or take the Jubilee Line (step-free) from Stratford Station to Green Park (step-free) and walk less than 15 minutes to Park Lane.

Onward travel to PROCESSIONS starting point (Park Lane): Take the Central Line from Shepherd’s Bush Station to Marble Arch and walk less than 5 minutes to Park Lane.

Coach Drop off & Pick up

Drop off and pick up at the start and end locations should not be attempted due to the road closures in place for the event.

We recommend that your coach travels directly to your chosen coach parking location, and you travel from there to the starting point and back again, using the local public transport. Suggested routes can be found above.

BY CAR There is no public parking provided for the event. Those who wish to travel by car should make us of public car parking facilities in central London, taking the road closure arrangements into consideration. There are various Q-Park car parks available in central London which would be suitable for easy access to the starting point.

Please make sure that if you are using central London car parks, you arrive with plenty of time before the event, before any road closures are implemented.

GETTING HOME

There is no rally at the end of PROCESSIONS.

Stewards and volunteers will be on hand to signpost you to the nearest tube stations:

Victoria Station for Train Services, Circle, District and Tube Services (30 minute walk)

Waterloo Station for Train Services, Jubilee, Northern and Bakerloo Line Tube Services (30 minute walk)

Vauxhall Station for Train Services, Victoria Line Tube Services (30 minute walk)

Green Park Station for Victoria Line, Piccadilly Line, Jubilee Line Tube Services (30 minute walk)

Please avoid using Westminster or St James’ Park as they will be extremely busy. For those travelling back towards East London, whose journey may be made easier by using the River Bus services (for example, travelling to Blackfriars or Greenwich) can make use of a special PROCESSIONS discount, provided by Thames Clipper services.
