Directions: Take Maine turnpike to Portland

From North, Take Exit 44 to Rt.295 (50 cent toll). In Portland take Exit 6a at Forest Ave and follow Route 77 south through downtown Portland, across bridge to South Portland. At light just past Wendys bear left onto Broadway, then right onto Cottage Road. Cottage Road becomes Shore Road at the Cape Elizabeth town line.

Approaching from the south, take Exit 42 to Halgis Parkway. Turn left onto Route 1, proceed north to Oak Hill in Scarborough. Go right on Route 207 (Black Point Road), then left onto Route 77 north to Cape Elizabeth. Turn right at the blinker on to Shore Road.

PORTLAND HEAD LIGHT UPPER FIELD

Facilities: Free parking, Porta-Johns (In Season), Walking Paths, Picnic Tables, Charcoal Grills, Gift Shop (In Season), Tours (Weekends, In Season)

Access: Fort Williams Park is open year round from sunrise to sunset. There is no admission fee.

Flying Area: Approximately 2 acres of grass field on top of bluff, +1 acre grass field below bluff. Best wind directions: NE, East, SE

Comments: The Museum at Portland Head Light is open daily from Memorial Day to the Friday following Columbus Day. From mid April to Memorial Day and from Columbus Day to just before Christmas the Museum is open weekends only. The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The admission fee is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children age 6-18. Children younger than 6 are free.The Gift Shop is open at all times when the Museum is open and is also open on weekends from November 1st to just before Christmas.
