High School STEM Program providencechristianacademy.org/stem Nationally certified by Project Lead the Way, the STEM program offers students in 9-12 the opportunity to challenge themselves through a STEM Elective Path or a STEM Scholar Path. A STEM course is the most rigorous elective a student can choose. STEM Scholar Requirements: 4 STEM courses and ALL honors/AP Math & Science with a minimum of 2 AP Math and/or Science. STEM Courses (2 points added – see Grading): STEM I: Intro to Engineering Design (IED) STEM III-E: Construction Engineering Architecture (CEA) or III-B: Human Body Systems (HBS) STEM II: Principles of Engineering (POE) STEM IV: STEM Senior Capstone (SSC) Students in the Class of 2016 were the 1st to be eligible to complete the STEM Scholar Path. Of the 25 seniors enrolled in a STEM course, 8 received the STEM Scholar recognition. These students matriculated to: Auburn University, Georgia Tech (2), Harvard College, Mercer University (2), & University of GA (2). Their Intended fields of study: Biology/Pre-Med, Biomedical Engineering, Business, Chemical Engineering, Finance/Real Estate, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Nursing.
