The event that closed the fair moved forward, usually several hundred dollars at a time and accompanied by many claims of “sold your way” from the auctioneer’s podium. When all was said and done, the preliminary num- bers showed that more than $105,000 was generated by the livestock auction and another $15,700 came from the premier auction.
