Sparks It was a busy week for the Sparks High School boys basketball team, but unfortunately for the Railroad- ers the results were all the same. The team played three games in five days, beginning with a trip to Susanville last Tuesday to take on Lassen where they fell 69-34. The Railroaders went on to host a pair of weekend games, and lost 78-38 to Lowry Friday night and 73-36 to Fernley on Saturday. Sparks (0-6, 0-3) will look to get into the win column for the first time this season on Saturday when they welcome Dayton at 2:30 p.m.

Reed After finishing 2-2 in the McDon- ald’s Classic in Stockton, Calif., the Raiders returned to Northern Ne- vada and picked up its first confer- ence win of the season last Tuesday at Carson High, 54-52. It was a tight contest through- out the game, and Reed led 25-24 at halftime. The Raiders stretched the lead to four points heading into the fourth quarter and were able to hold off a late rally by Carson. Trey Ste- vens connected behind the arc late in the fourth quarter and sank a pair of free throws to secure the win. Reed was back on the road Friday night at Douglas High and knocked off the Tigers 76-47. The Raiders (4-7, 1-2) host Wooster on Thursday and Galena on Friday, both at 7 p.m., before getting a week off for the holiday break.
