Friends of Scouting is the annual giving campaign to support the mission, services, programs and operations of Scouting in New Hampshire through the Daniel Webster Council.

Why give to Friends of Scouting? Your contributions help maintain Griswold Reservation, Camp Carpenter, Hogue Scout Camp & Unity Program Center. Financial contributions provide marketing efforts to grow Scouting, help for Scouts from low-income families, STEM Programs, leader training, support literature, and Administrative Support from the Volunteer Service Center. Your help through Friends of Scouting is critical to furthering Scouting’s mission here in New Hampshire.

Who supports Scouting in New Hampshire & Daniel Webster Council? Since 1929, the Daniel Webster Council has delivered a quality Scouting program right here in the Granite State. The dedicated staff and volunteers of the Council work to extend Scouting to all youth and support the leaders who conduct the program. Scouting programs in New Hampshire are supported in large part by our members and families as well as corporate and community investment.

Who pays for Scouting? The Daniel Webster Council is supported by financial investments from individuals, businesses, Scouting families and volunteers. As well as through camping and activity fees, the Popcorn Fundraiser, Trust Fund support, Special Events and other revenue sources. The Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign makes up more than 11% of the council’s budget.

The Unit Family Friends of Scouting presentation is given by a dedicated Scouting volunteer at a unit meeting where all parents/families will be in attendance. This meeting is ideally held sometime in January, February or March and in order to provide as little disruption as possible to the meeting the presenter will ask to be first on your agenda after the opening ceremony and will take no more than 7 minutes of your valuable meeting time. To ensure that your unit’s presentation nets the best results it is always helpful if the unit leader and/or unit coordinator make the first contribution immediately following the presentation. Should you have any questions about the Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign please contact your District Chairman or the Development Office of the Daniel Webster Council.
