Elevation changes, long straight and a combination of slow- and high-speed turns have led many drivers to call this the ‘Spa Fracorchamps’ of North America. As the penultimate stop on the 2014 calendar, the Championship picture is beginning to come into focus as we head toward this weekend’s event. Currently, Koch sits atop the point standings with a 5 MX-5 Cup Weekend Facts and Story Leads 55-marker lead over John Dean. While Koch’s lead may be sizeable, the championship battle is not over. The Andretti Autosport driver had a 2.312-second advantage over the No. 2 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing car driven by Patrick McKenna of Dublin, Ireland at the checkered. Both Karam and McKenna were in Mazda- powered Van Diemens. Tonis Kasemets of Mundelein, Ill., who won a similar race here Saturday, finished third Sunday in a Zetec-powered Van Diemen fielded by Pabst Racing Services.
