Honda is involved in a wide range of motorsport disciplines, two wheel and four, around the world. Following their every move is a legion of fans, who cannot wait for the 2016 season to get underway. iRaceHonda.com is a dedicated fan membership site for those who want to keep up-to-date with everything to do with Honda throughout the year. We have put together this guide to the major Honda motorsport campaigns, to help fans prepare for an exciting season ahead. M OTOGP Honda had to give best in the 2015 MotoGP series and will double down to try and win back the prestigious title in the FIM Road Racing World Championship. Marc Marquez was back-to-back world champion in the preceding years and heads the challenge once again, with veteran rider and fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa in the factory team. The Repsol Honda team will field two 2016 specification RC 213V machines, with revised engine and the new ?common? electronics. New software from Magneti Marelli requires the team to spend a lot of time on preseason figuration and the teams are also now running on new Michelin tires. Three other teams will contest the series as well. Cal Crutchlow for LCRHonda, Jack Miller for MARC VDS and Tito Rabat for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team. Marc Marquez is entering just his fourth season in the premier championship and while he endured a tougher season in 2015 he has been nothing short of meteoric in his ascendancy. All eyes will be on Marquez to help Honda win the riders, constructors and team titles in 2016. Teammate Dani Pedrosa is one of the most successful riders in the history of Honda, with more podiums than any other rider at 141. He scored three consecutive world championship titles in the 125 and 250cc categories, prior to moving to the top tier. Honda factory machines will also be in the Moto3 category, following a successful 2015 season, where the championship crown was taken by British rider Danny Kent. (pictured). The NSF250RW model will be campaigned by a total of 11 riders and the factory is aiming for a clear and third consecutive series title. - Estrella Galicia 0,0 fields young Spaniards Aron Canet and Jorge Navarro. - Ongetta-Rivacold fields Niccolo Antonelli (Italy) and Jules Danilo (France). - Drive M7 SIC Racing fields Adam Norrodin (Malaysia) and Jakub Kornfeil (Czech Republic). - Gresini Racing Moto3 fields Enea Bastianini (Italy) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Italy). - Honda Team Asia fields Hiroki Ono (Japana) and Khairul Idham Pawi (Malaysia). - RW Racing GP BV fields Livio Lol from Belgium M OTOGP Qatar* Losail International Circuit Sunday, March 20, 2016 Argentina Termas de Río Hondo Sunday, April 03, 2016 Americas Circuit Of The Americas Sunday, April 10, 2016 Spain Jerez de la Frontera ** Sunday, April 24, 2016 France Le Mans Sunday, May 08, 2016 Italy Mugello Sunday, May 22, 2016 Catalunya Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Sunday, June 05, 2016 Netherlands TT Assen Sunday, June 26, 2016 Germany Sachsenring Sunday, July 17, 2016 Austria Red Bull Ring Sunday, August 14, 2016 Czech Republic Brno ** Sunday, August 21, 2016 Great Britain Silverstone Sunday, September 04, 2016 San Marino e della Riviera Misano Sunday, September 11, 2016 di Rimini Aragon MotorLand Aragon Friday, September 09, 2016 Japan Twin Ring Motegi Sunday, October 16, 2016 Australia Phillip Island Sunday, October 23, 2016 Malaysia Sepang International Circuit Sunday, October 30, 2016 Valencia Comunitat Valenciana - Ricardo Sunday, November 13, 2016 Tormo F1 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Honda fans around the world, indeed all Formula One fans, are waiting with bated breath for the launch of the McLaren Honda MP4? 31. The 2015 Formula One season was difficult for the team to put it mildly, as the two icons of the sport got back together to much fanfare. There is of course very little room for real development during the course of a typical F1 season, so there was much work in the UK and in Japan during the off-season recess in order to prepare for this year. Meanwhile, there have been many rumors regarding the potential of the new car, but we will only start to get a real feel for it when testing gets underway prior to the first race in Australia. The team retains the undoubted, pent-up talent of the two former world champions Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso. Huff will join Tiago Monteiro, who is in his fourth season now with Honda and Norbert Michelisz. Hungarian Michelisz was one of the stars of the 2015 championship and won the Yokohama independent Trophy category. In recognition, he now becomes a factory driver in the third Civic WTCC, based on the successful Type R. Italian company JAS Motorsport will prepare the cars. Huff, 36, has always been one of the championship?s outstanding drivers. He has no less than 27 race wins in the series, making him second on the all-time winners list. He sampled a Civic from the JAS stable late last year to win the prestigious Macau Guia race. Monteiro, 39, finished fifth in the championship last year and scored two victories, including one on home soil for Honda in Japan. Michelisz, 31, also scored two victories in 2015, beating all the factory drivers to the checkered flag, including at his home event in Hungary. Bou will be joined by 21-year-old veteran Takahisa Fujinami and the youngster, Spaniard Jaime Busto on identical machines. It?s hard to believe that Toni Bou is still only 29 years old - he has been riding since he was eight. He won the world championship in bicycle trials when he was only 30, before switching to motorcycle trial riding. Fujinami is known for being flamboyant, aggressive and brave and therefore a spectator favorite, while newcomer Busto will boost the team aspirations for Repsol Honda. The Montesa Cota 4RT is known for its reliability and performance. For this year the engine displacement has been increased, in order to optimize control for the ?higher-level? parts of the WCT. Gautier Paulin and Evgeny Bobryshev. Paulin, who finished second in the series and ?Bobby? who finished third will campaign the Honda CRF450RW this year. Paulin was a world championship winner aboard BMX bikes at the tender age of six. When he moved up to motorized versions he quickly took the European championship. Bobryshev was similarly a young starter, but got much of his experience in the 125cc Russian championship before moving into motocross. The third rider Tim Gaiser will campaign a similar machine under the team Honda Gariboldi Racing banner. CRF450RW factory machines run Dunlop tires and are specifically designed to give a lower centre of gravity for greater control. They have a range of custom performance parts, often featuring titanium to reduce weight. Derivatives of this machine include the 250 RW, victorious in the MX2 category last year. In 2016 this title will be eyed by 19-year-old Jorge Zaragoza for Team Honda Gariboldi Racing.
