BLUE JACKETS NOTES OFF TO A QUICK START The Blue Jackets opened the 2017-18 season having won seven of their first 11 contests with Columbus averaging 3.86 goals per game in their seven victories. It’s tied for the second-best start in franchise history (2010-11), trailing the 7-3-1 start posted in 2007-08. Sergei Bobrovsky has stopped 228-of-243 shots to start the season while fellow Russian Artemi Panarin is pacing the team with ten points (1-9-10).

MONTH OF OCTOBER The Jackets are 7-4-0 in the month of October. With the win over Winnipeg on Friday night, the club’s seven wins in the month is tied for the most in an October in franchise history and the 14 points are the second-most, trailing the 7-3-1 and 15 points recorded in Oct. 2007.

SHOOTING GALLERY The Blue Jackets enter tonight’s matchup with the Bruins having outshot their opponent in nine of the first 11 games this season (Oct. 10 at Carolina and Oct. 28 at St. Louis). Columbus currently sits third in the NHL with 36.8 shots per game. The Jackets averaged 30.4 shots per game during the 2016-17 season. Columbus sits seventh-T in shots against per game, averaging 31 per game.

ON THE KILL The Blue Jackets rank fourth in the NHL in penalty kill percentage, having killed off 89.3 of their opponent’s opportunities through the first 11 games. The club killed off all three of St. Louis’ power play chances Saturday and has now not allowed a power play goal in six- straight games (15 penalties), tied for the third-longest streak in club history (9-straight games from Feb. 21-Mar.9, 2013 and 7-straight games from Nov. 27-Dec. 10, 2001). The club is one of two teams in the league to remain perfect at home (Buffalo), killing off all 16 of their opponents’ power play opportunities, setting a franchise record for longest streak to begin a campaign without allowing a power play goal at home (six contests).

LEADING THE CHARGE Nick Foligno enters tonight’s contest against the Bruins having recorded points in seven of the 11 games this season with 3-2-5 in the last seven contests. The Buffalo, New York native has recorded eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 41 career games against Boston. Foligno has won 86-of-177 faceoffs this season (48.6%) and is tied for the club lead in plus-minus (+6, Werenski).

WENNBERG HITS 100 Alexander Wennberg recorded his 100th career assist on 10/25 against the Sabres. Since the start of the 2016-17 season, he has collected 53 assists, 14th-T in the NHL. With eight points through the first 11 games of the season (1-7-8), the Stockholm, Sweden native is on pace to break his previous career high of 59 points set last season.

ATKINSON’S SCORING PROWESS Cam Atkinson notched his fourth goal of the season on Friday vs. Winnipeg. Since the start of the 2015-16 campaign, the winger had tallied 66 goals, the 14th most in the NHL, trailing Montreal's Max Pacioretty by two goals. Atkinson, who is 17 games from becoming the seventh Jacket to play 400 games with the franchise, with another 20-goal campaign would be just the second player in franchise history to record 20-goals in five-straight campaigns (Rick Nash; eight-straight from 2003-12). WELCOME BREADMAN Panarin has made his presence felt early on with the Blue Jackets, scoring a goal and adding nine assists through 11 games this season with two three-assist outings. Panarin became the first player in Jackets franchise history to record three points in his club debut on October 6 against the Islanders. The Korkino, Russia native has now racked up 62-99-161 in 172 career games. Over the last two seasons, only six players in the NHL have scored more points than Panarin (Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby, Jamie Benn, Nicklas Backstrom, Erik Karlsson and Blake Wheeler).
