Dwight Baker – Writer/Producer/Mixer/Engineer The only thing that Dwight Baker has done quietly is his rise to chart success both as a writer and a producer and that’s due to his un- nerving work ethic. After co-writing hits with Kelly Clarkson, Dwight built a state of the art studio in his home-town of Austin TX and continued to write and record music he loves whilst enjoying significant radio success across the genres, particularly at rock, alt country and AAA. Chart hits worldwide followed and Dwight has been busier than ever as more and more artists flow through his Matchbox Studios. Blue October Biography – 2013

blue october Biography – 2013 “’Sway’ is an empowering record. It’s a record that I always wanted to make but didn’t know how.” – Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld BLUE OCTOBER, the San Marcos, TX-based band known for shimmering rock songs and haunting lyrics on albums such as 2009’s Billboard Top 15 debut, Approaching Normal, 2011’s Billboard Top Ten debut Any Man In America and the Platinum-selling Foiled, makes a triumphant return with Sway (Up/Down Records), the band’s first album in two years. With lush, atmospheric songs such as “Bleed Out,” “Angels In Everything” and “Fear,” and the edgy rocker “Put It In,” the Texas four-piece comes back strong with a revitalized energy and a positive outlook. As singer Justin Furstenfeld puts it: “This album is about why life is so beautiful. It’s about facing fears and recognizing miracles every day. It’s about enjoying yourself and realizing that life is not something you can half-ass.” The band began writing the album after coming off a series of tour dates in 2012. Drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld echoes his brother’s attitude. “, “The band is in a really great space now, everyone is healthy, happy, and doing well. That’s changed our point of view, and you can hear that new perspective on the album.” Produced by Justin Furstenfeld and David Castell (who also produced the band’s History for Sale and co-produced the Platinum Foiled) and recorded at Fire Station Studios in San Marcus, TX, the writing for the new album began with Justin.

The critics were united in acknowledging the eponymously titled debut album from Flying Colors among the most fascinating releases of 2012. Teaming the talents of such heavyweight names as Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs/ex-Kansas guitarist Steve Morse, drummer Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock’s Beard and a prolific solo artist), bass player Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and more) with a comparatively new talent, pop singer/songwriter Casey McPherson, the band challenged conventional wisdom about combining virtuoso music and melodic songwriting. Or, as the quintet’s modus operandi was once memorably defined by founder Bill Evans, ‘crafting new-fashioned music the old- fashioned way’. GuitarWorld.com has premiered an album teaser featuring all five band members here: http://www.guitarworld.com/flying-colors-return Evans’ mission was to team a pool of virtuoso players, a pop singer/songwriter, and the right producer—to create sophisticated music that was accessible.

Overview ↓ User Reviews ↓ Credits ↓ Releases ↓ Similar Albums ↓ facebook twitter tumblr. AllMusic Review by James Christopher Monger. The eighth studio long player from the veteran Lone Star State alt-rockers, Home finds Blue October offering up a positive spin on their frequently dark blend of melodic alt-rock and angsty post-grunge. Notoriously troubled frontman Justin Furstenfeld, now four years sober, has crafted the group's most inspiring and life-affirming collection of songs to date. Propelled by the soaring, chart-topping title cut, Home wasted little time ascending to the top of Billboard charts, debuting at number one on the Alternative Albums Chart, number one on the Independent Albums Chart, and number five on the Billboard 200. I Hope You're Happy. The follow-up to 2016's chart-topping Home, Blue October's ninth studio long-player sees the platinum-selling alt-rockers continuing to further themselves from the downcast post-grunge of past outings like Foiled and Any Man in America. Steeped in optimism, I Hope You're Happy delivers lush electronic flourishes, sumptuous string arrangements, feel-good choruses, and big, arena-sized hooks. It also marks the debut of Will Knaak, who took over lead guitar duties after the departure of touring guitarist Matthew Ostrander. Flying Colors – Third Degree

    Flying Colors – Third Stage
