Presidents Report which is the Walkerville Club.

Good luck this weekend guys. Train hard, turn up Happy New year to everyone! to the game confident and with your mind focused on your role in the side and give Welcome to 2016. We have seen the temperatures rise everything that you can. Then come back to the both on and off the field so far in 2016. The A and C club and have a relaxing beer or two with your grades both coming back strongly after Christmas mates and family. whereas the B grade and one dayers must have eaten too much Christmas pudding and have started a little Craig Burford sluggish. We are on the home stretch now coming into the last four games (for the two day comp) and its time that we turned up the heat on our opposition. A term that Look a Like I started to use when captaining the one day side “it’s time to turn the screws”. Time to train that extra bit harder. Time to take our game to the next level if we are wanting to make the finals. I don’t mind using the F word in cricket. Finals. Footballers want to take it one game at a time. I say let’s strive to make the finals in all of our senior grades. The old cliché goes “to take it one game at a time” and yes that’s completely relevant, but looking forward and having a goal of making the finals isn’t such a bad thing. We play competitive sport to play and win finals. There is no hiding from that fact. I want this year to be a memorable one on the field for all of our cricketers who have worked their back sides off in the nets to finally get the rewards that are due.

Speaking of rewards, it was great to have the A grade Matt T20 trophy last season and let’s hope the B grade can replicate that this year. They are performing well on the Thorto when asked to bowl into the wind! big stage so far having another win on Tuesday night at Walkerville. It is great to see the B grade side gelling so Junior Quiz Night well together and performing this season as a complete team. I am very hopeful that the B’s can turn their last performance around quickly and sneak into the finals as Everybody Welcome to test their I am confident that they can perform well come March. Skills! On a final note, our junior cricket quiz night is being held When -Sat 13th Feb 7pm on Saturday February 13th at the club. $20 a ticket and Where- Walkerville Club Rooms please contact Daniel Giles on ph 0414 082 795 to book your spot. Barrington were new to the team and both contributed substantially to the witty banter in the field. Interim , Coxy, followed Knowlesy’s lead and lost the toss. The Cats were invited to field first. The silent assassin opened up with Diesel and the cats were on top after the first 10 overs. Restricting

Blackmore (42) and Hutchinson (37) were given a licence to thrill the massive Walkerville crowd and they did just that! Pushing for the outright victory Diesel started extremely well and bowled 8 overs 1/19 as he strangled their scoring from one end. Similarly to the first innings, the Cats took regular wickets in a very patient bowling performance as 71/2 at tea became 128 all out very quickly with still 21 overs still to be bowled. Blackmore was once again the pick of the bowlers with 4. All bowlers bowled well and once again the fielding was excellent as Woodville were never allowed to release the pressure that was place d upon them. Final result: Walkerville win by an innings and 28 runs. Highlights: Two debuts, Pappa Jules’s banter, Thornton batting in a Walkerville cap. Santa visits Walkerville! Lowlights: Hutchinson’s chat, Coxy
