Dear Sir/Madam, Terry Eckersley has returned to his home City Sheffield, where he started his career at the Sheffield YMCA. HE THEN WENT ONTO GREAT THINGS. He was acknowledged by the Queen, who invited him to her Garden Party! The national youth agency also used the YMCA Terry built from scratch! As a case study for a world class, 21st Century, Youth & Community Development Centre, that also I involved it's users in establishing what they needed & helped in the running. Many clients became volunteers, many volunteers went on to become staff! A home grown leadership culture, where everyone took responsibility for the project. Also he started a Housing Project, brand new, with creative funding streams, as the economy got worse Woking YMCA became more prosperous in finance, that allowed many lives changed. This was also endorsed and a big two page spread on the success went into Housing Today on again, what a successful Model this was, providing exceptional flats and then the support given to help the young people where they are at. " We then help get them back to study, volunteering and employment, enthused Terry, again in partnership with the local and county councils, Churches, even the local police, I always said David Cameron would be proud of us, this is BIG SOCIETY in action!" Jessica has offices in New York, Paris and Australia, Terry's impact is global and he's back in the City to serve it.
