As someone who doesn't enjoy Otherworld, Britain Corps, or the fantasy aspect of the Marvel Universe, this wasn't destined to be one of my favorites. I mean this book is not terrible it's just so mediocre and not necessary to the series, they could have removed this entire volume from the series and it would go un-noticed. The White Owl revives a revenant based on Psylocke original body before she transformed into her Japanese body. What is this nonsense? Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. Ready to see some of your favorite stories come to life? I had faith that Rick Remender could make it cool. Error rating book. In their first attack, they capture Genesis Evan Sabahnur in to order to train him to become evil and the new Apocalypse. It was hard for me to keep up or hard for me to care to keep up. It looks Especially since the first thing the otherworld tried to do was execute our protagonist post-haste and then tried to make us care about the fact that the world was in peril. Rick Remender knows what he is doing and the story he is telling and in little panels you'll get some of the best moments of this book's run. Community Reviews. Even though - yes we totally do!!! Well, not wrong really. From the previous novels, we already know that Psylocke is Captain Britain's brother, but here we find out that Psylocke used to be Miss Britain, she lived in Otherworld, and she used to have a different body. I don't know if these characters have ever thought about it, but with that pattern, CB should've been a stain under someone's cloven hoof a LONG time ago. Meanwhile, Fantomex stands accused of a crime so heinous the Captain Britain Corps has diverted its attention from Otherworld's defense to conduct his trial. Apparently Psylocke when she was Miss Britain was kidnapped and placed in some other body, the bodacious body in all of its fanservice glory that we know Psylocke of having today. Grade Level: 10 - List vol. Original Title. There were moments when I wasn't as distracted by it, but those were few and far between. It was the same overhyped nonsense that filled those books then. Fantomex is taken to this dimension to stand trial for what happened with the Apocalypse child and X-Force shows up to rescue him but finds themselves in the middle of a war with wizards. Not bad at all, just not as good as the series has been in the past. Eventually Kraven appears but the action take so long to develop there’s no payoff. It is by far the worst Deadpool ever. This research was conducted using Kenneth Burke’s theory of terministic screens to evaluate how the authors and artists created the comic books. Sonja Foss’s description of cluster criticism is used to determine key terms in the series and how they were contributed to the creation of characters. I also used visual rhetoric to understand how comic book structure and conventions impacted the visual creation of superheroines. The results indicate that while these superheroines are multi- dimensional characters, they are still created within a male standard of what constitutes a hero.
