Start your review of On My Knees Bridge, 1. Maya, Maya, Maya Lord help me, I wanted to strangle you. On My Knees was a heavier, slower-paced read. It was very well-written. I just got a bit frustrated throughout the book. The story begins with Maya and Cameron in college. Cameron is home on leave from the military and is spending the Spring Break week with Maya. It's evident that they are very much in love with each other. But when Cameron "proposes" to Maya, Maya says In all f 3. But when Cameron "proposes" to Maya, Maya says In all fairness, On My Knees wasn't exactly a hearts and flowers proposal. Regardless, Cameron ends up walking out of Maya's life and they don't speak for On My Knees next five years. Maya spends that time And drowning her sorrows. She's really a rather miserable person. She hates her job, hates life, hates love. After college Maya ends up in New York and coincidentally so does Cameron. They end up re-connecting. The old feelings are there for both Maya and Cameron. It's like for every one step forward Cameron and Maya took, they took two more steps backwards. Maya was SO hot and cold. She'd start On My Knees let Cameron in and then she'd push him away. Maya was so damaged from their last break-up she just couldn't trust that Cameron wouldn't walk out on her again and leave her broken-hearted, despite how strong her feelings for Cameron were. Finally we are getting some where. Cameron and Maya are going to be in a good place, she seems happy. Bam, the rug was pulled. And we're back to square one. Poor Cameron, I'm not sure Maya was worth all of the trouble. She was a hot mess. But Cameron loved her and he was willing to endure whatever he had to if it meant Maya was his in On My Knees end. I was literally on my knees begging Maya to get On My Knees shit together for the majority of the book. So while yes, the majority of the book I was frustrated as hell the book and the story did make On My Knees feel. Not all feels are good feels. I absolutely love Meredith's writing style and how she draws you in and really makes you feel for the characters. Even when they are doing things, or making choices that make you want to shake the crap out of them, you get it!!! This was no different. I absolutely loved watching Maya grow and learn who she was and what she wanted out of life. Cam was delicious, and strong, and delightful. The story is about a 4. The story is about a second chance at love and leaving the scars of the past behind for the promise of the future. There will be plenty of bumps and twists, vices, and people who want to use you or bring you down. If this story teaches you anything it is that you can dare to hope and dream. If you read Meredith Wild's Hacker Series, be prepared Cameron On My Knees Maya's story is sad, heartbreaking, frustrating and a reunion that you aren't quite sure is ever going to happen. After turning down Cameron's proposal, Maya lost herself. She drank hard and partied harder. She didn't get attached to anything other than the drink in her hand and that suited her just fine. You get the sense she is operating on auto-pilot and isn't really living. You just want to grab her and shake her out of her funk and make her believe she is worthy of On My Knees. Cameron walked away from the love of his life. He wanted to marry Maya, it was that simple. He didn't care that she didn't come from money, he just wanted her. He threw himself in to On My Knees military career, then when that was over, started a gym, just blocks away from Maya's apartment. He On My Knees forgot her and like Maya, threw himself in to his job to mask the pain. After a chance meting with Cameron's sister, Maya is faced with emotions she fought like hell to avoid. This story is just as much Cam's as it is Maya's. Both are trying On My Knees live their lives but just can't move on. Meredith addresses the very real subject of alcoholism in a very real way that makes you think it really On My Knees happen to anyone. Maya frustrates you to no end. She has every excuse in the book why she needs that drink, and every time she does, it gets her in to nothing but trouble. Cam is the one person that calls her on her problem and doesn't accept excuses. Through their journey On My Knees find that their initial pact of being "just friends" is going to be much harder than they thought. The supporting On My Knees are amazing!!
