Alderley Edge Take Lead, Now Only 3 Points Separate Top 4 ALDERLEY EDGE Have Deposed Toft and Taken the Lead in the ECB Premier League for the First Time Cheshire County Cricket League 2015 NEWSLETTER: WEEK 15 - J25 / 26 Alderley Edge take lead, now only 3 points separate top 4 ALDERLEY EDGE have deposed Toft and taken the lead in the ECB Premier League for the first time. They did so with a four wickets win over Bramhall, while Toft were held to a losing draw by Grappenhall, Hyde trounced Marple and Nantwich won a thriller at Chester Boughton Hall to leave just three points separating the top four clubs. Consistent Alderley replied with a comfortable 1876 (Richard Wilkinson 65, Alan Day 60, Rupes Kitzinger 441) to Bramhall’s 1859, Dan Lamb 75, Charlie Reid 338. Match of the day was a close and lowscoring affair at Chester where Boughton Hall were restricted to a modest 170, which th would have been 64 less but for a stubborn 10 wicket stand between Alex Kegg, 40 and Harry Killoiran 37 not out. Their colleagues had no answer to the pace of inform, Jimmy Warrington, who took 868. The Dabbers replied with 1749, but only after a matchwinning last wicket stand of 12 between Lancashire’s Liam Livingstone who wound up with 93 not out and the aforementioned Jimmy Warrington, a vital 0 not out. Jack Williams claimed 454 for CBH, now rank outsiders for honours. Champions Hyde made it seven wins in eight in a one sided game at Marple, bowling the home side out for 61, Dan Woods continuing his superb form with 726. Hyde knocked the runs off in 8.4 overs at 652. Toft took a miserly eight points from a losing draw at home to Grappenhall, the second week in succession they have struggled against lowly opposition. Iun a fine tlally of 272, Rick Green hit 73, James McCoy 60 and Albert Wilkinson 50, Rob Jones claiming 562. Toft reached 1928 in reply, Jones 51, Henry Hughes 44 and Ed Stubbs a matchsaving 33 not out against an onslaught from Gaz Burns, 548. Cheadle produced another bright performance and could stave off relegation on current form. They restricted Neston to 162, debutant Dominic Smith 58, Dan Brown 646, responding with 1635, led by skipper Paul Sperring’s 66 and 49 to Drew Carswell. Simon Mugarva took 359 for Neston who badly need to start winning. Bowdon suffered a lapse in form, beaten by five wickets at South Downs Road by Macclesfield, for whom veteran Rob Porter was the stand out player. Carl Hey, 69 topscored in Bowdon’s 164, Porter 646, Macc replied with 1654, Porter 51 not out. Rick Halkon’s 9-32 keeps Sale top RICK HALKON produced the League’s best bowling performance of the season with a return of 17.28329, including a hattrick to rout Middlewich and keep his side nine points clear at the top of Division One. Middlewich were ousted for 88 and Sale’s reply of 912 included 46 not out from Ian Dixon. Timperley stay hard on their heels after a 145run victory over Didsbury, who have gone right off the boil. Mike Ness topscored with 56 in Timpers’ 2205, then Didsbury were bowled out for 75 in 22 overs by lethal pair Jack White, 536 and Chris Page 328. Oulton Park’s chase is hotting up and they made short work of Cheadle Hulme at Little Budworth after dismissing them for 140, Andy Hards 561. Oulton replied with 1411, Nick James 56 not out, Martyn East 52. Oxton pulled off an impressive win at Urmston, thanks largely to Sri Lankan allrounder Gayan Fernando. With Shaaiq Choudhry scoring 68, Fernando assisted with 59 as Oxton totalled 1988, Matt Parkinson 466. Urmston fell 18 runs short at a gallant 180, Chris Turner 46, Fernando steaming in for 24 overs to return 788. Tattenhall’s 10 wickets win at The Flacca over Davenham was a surprise as they started the game below their visitors and the match was played on one of groundsman Brian Jarrard’s nearperfect pitches. After Mark Greaves’ 33, Davenham slumped to 95 all out against an attack in which Dave Shewring (321) had the best figures while the real stars were in the field where Callum Wilson and Dan Power took the eye. Tatters knocked off the runs at 980 in 17 overs, Glen Coppack 56, Jack Harding 33. With a finish little after 5 pm what a waste of a glorious afternoon on a ground which is literally a breath of fresh air! Arguably the two best batsmen in the division both scored centuries in the drawn game between Weaverham and Christleton. Kiwi Mitch Renwick clocked an unbeaten 122 his fourth century in a Christleton tally of 2806, enjoying a 128 fourth wicket stand with Ben Patterson, 59. Weaverham made a go of it and reached 2508, largely due to 112 from Antiguan Wilden Cornwall while an unbeaten 34 by Kevin Douglas ensured against a late defeat. WEEK 15 NEWSLETTER: p2 Warrington lead by 50 points WARRINGTON stretched their lead to 50 points in Division Two after another successful run chase, this time at home to Stockport. The Cale Green men posted 1749, Nathan Green 459 and Warrington made it comfortably at 1785, the consistent Adam Green topscoring with 77. Steve Gee top scored with 81 in Alvanley’s 2178, Bolly being bowled out for 141, Stuart Plant 44, Jason Eccleston 628. Upton are mounting a serious challenge and their win by seven wickets at Irby sets them up for a late charge. Irby were all out for 108, Greg Shillinglaw 43, Gary Dixon a best of the day 622, to which Upton responded with 1083, James Williams 52. Mobberley beat Northwich by four wickets at Church Lane after their hosts had closed on 1838, James Gittings 45. Charlie Nield topscored with 59 as his side made it with four wickets in hand. Brooklands continue to go well, but they had a struggle to beat Congleton by one wicket at Georges Road after their South Cheshire visitors had posted 1638, Max O’Sullivan 43, Mark Law 431. Brooklands edged home at 1649, A.J. Hart 77 not out enjoying a last wicket stand with an injured colleague. Bredbury St. Mark’s spirited struggle to avoid the drop brought them a losing draw at Widnes, who declared on 2484, Luke McCoy 101 not out. • Members Forum Minutes 1St September 2016
Members Forum Minutes 1st September 2016 Chairman Introduction and Update The Chairman introduced Members to the panel that consisted of: Daniel Gidney, CEO Anthony Mundy, Operations Director Justin Hopwood, Sales & Marketing Director Amanda Fearn, Chair of the Members’ Representative Group Ashley Giles, Head Coach and Cricket Director The Club is in a good position overall. The commercial areas are doing OK but it has got tougher, there is obviously an element in business of people holding back a little until they find out more about what is going to happen and how the economy is going to run, are interest rates going to change etc. That is very important to us as an awful lot of money that is spent here is personal money and with savings rates not being what we would like them to be that is not helping. Overall we are in decent shape. We had the most phenomenal function in The Point on Saturday night for a leading family in the area, an 80th birthday party and the cabaret was Kylie Minogue and Ronan Keating. The event went absolutely brilliantly. It’s the largest private function since The Point opened. Manchester United are with us again this season so those numbers are up again. As far as cricket is concerned (not here but the way cricket is going) I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions the concern that everybody has with Test Match attendances. The Pakistan Test Match here turned out to be very good but it was a hard sell. Correspondingly the T20 that is coming up next week has had phenomenal attraction and is a sell out and should be a very good game.

2012 season: September 15 Newsletter URMSTON & WIDNES RELEGATED Nantwich complete title hat-trick NANTWICH completed a richly-deserved hat-trick of ECB Premier League championships on a momentous final day at Toft when they chalked up their eighth victory in nine completed games since the season’s halfway mark. They finish 12 points clear of Hyde, who also won their final game, at Marple. Receiving the trophy from League chairman David Humpage after the close of play, Nantwich skipper Andy Newton told a large crowd: “It has been a wonderful run-in for us to win this trophy a third time. We have done it in a different way, with some different players, but it’s been just as satisfying”. Amid rumours that he intends to stand down rather than try to top the hat-trick records of Bowdon (2002-03-04) and Oulton Park (2005-6-7), the Dabbers’ popular skipper said he planned to go on holiday to Portugal to contemplate. His team looked in trouble when they were reduced to 70-6, Jonny Kettle 26, by Toft’s young spinners, but a chancy 29 – the top innings of the day - by paceman Jimmy Warrington and Sam Hunt’s useful 21 helped them limp to 126. For Toft, Jimmy Lomas claimed 6-82 and Rob Jones 3-25. On a poor wicket shorn of all grass and with crumbling dust, Toft were reduced to 7-5 by Nantwich’s pacemen. England junior Jones, 28 and Ed Stubbs, 21, put up mature resistance, but were eventually were no match for the varied attack of Chris Connolly, who wound up with 5-27, left-arm spinner Ollie Griffiths, 2-9 off 12 accurate overs and the league’s top wicker-taker Warrington, 2-15 as they fell to 80 all out.

! Cheshire County Cricket League ! 2015 NEWSLETTER: WEEK 14 - ULY 18 Leaders Toft tie with bottom club Cheadle CHEADLE moved off bottom place in the ECB Premier League when they claimed 16 tie points from a thrilling game against leaders Toft at Kingsway. Toft’s advantage is reduced to 15 points, while Neston sink to the foot of the table. Cheadle were put in and totalled 183, Greg Dixon 81, Rob Jones 4-67. Toft did not enjoy their usual batting fluency and needed a good knock from skipper Toby Drummond, 44 to give themselves a chance after slumping to 70-6. Fine bowling by Aussie Matt Fotia, 4-43 put Toft behind, but with one ball left they needed two to win and their last batsman Jimmy Lomas was run out going for the second – by star turn Fotia – leaving them on 183 all out. Chester Boughton Hall failed to close the gap, losing by three wickets to old rivals Hyde at Werneth Low after running up 207, Jack Williams contributing an unbeaten 77 at number 8, while Jason Whittaker took 5-78. For Hyde, Harry Dearden was bowled by Alex Kegg for 99, then Rob Brierley and Jason Whittaker, both 33, helped their side over the line at 208-7. Kegg finished with 4-59. • Toft and Bolly Only Wet Day Winners
Cheshire County Cricket League 2015 NEWSLETTER: WEEK 3 Toft and Bolly only wet day winners RAIN throughout the county decimated Saturday’s league programme, only Toft (ECB Premier League) and Bollington (Division 2) managing to beat the elements and their opponents to take clear leads in the respective sections. Helped by their splendid new roll-on, roll-off covers, Toft survived a downpour and the loss of only 25 overs and did well to beat Cheadle by seven wickets at Booth’s Park. Cheadle batted down the order to total 220-7 from 52 overs in a rain-interrupted innings, Will Holmes 78, Paul Sperring 58, Elliott Bullock 54, while Matt Cornes claimed 3- 45. Left with 33 overs, Toft rose to the occasion, Aussie opener Jake Hancock carrying his bat for 127 to post a second successive ton, his century coming off 68 balls. He was helped by Rob Jones, 42 and James Drummond, 37 as Toft won with five overs to spare at a run rate of almost eight. Toft lead the Premier League by three points from Alderley Edge, Chester Boughton Hall and Nantwich who were all left fuming by persistent rain and had to be content with seven points each from a combined tally of 17 overs against Grappenhall, Hyde and Neston respectively. Marple v Macclesfield was also abandoned after the home side had made a bright start at 87-0 with Mark Makin on 53 and Andrew Hall, 34 both going well. Bowdon v Bramhall was another abandoned with the visitors reaching 93-1. South African Mallie shows class A MAJOR quirk in the weather pattern enabled Bollington and Bredbury St.
