n February 15, 2017, Lt OGen Kanwal Kumar, DG Army Aviation Corps flew the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) at the Aero India 2017. The LCH is indigenously developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and will soon be inducted into the Indian Army. This combat helicopter is light, manoeuvrable and armed with devastating fire power. It has the capability to manoeuvre through narrow valleys, mountains and high altitude areas, providing effective support to ground operations. ith an aim to give exposure and Wrender assistance to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir regarding employment avenues and schemes run by Central & State Government, Non- Government agencies and Army, a grand Employment Fair with 'Make In India' theme was organised on 06 February 2017 at Zorawar Singh Memorial Stadium, Reasi under the aegis of HQ CIF (U). The Employment Fair was organised under the flagship Op Sadbhavana and was attended by over 2000 youth from Reasi and adjoining villages. 40 stalls of various Government departments, including Army and CAPF were put up which provided information about respective organisation and employment opportunities with them. The Army through a number of multi- faceted projects, has been aiming to make the locals self-reliant by providing vocational training in various disciplines to generate self-employment. These included courses on Computer Hardware Repair, Electrician, Light Vehicle Repair, Hair Dressing, Entrepreneurship training in Dairy Farming, Poultry Farming, Mushroom Farming and Floriculture as well as Pre Recruitment training for joining the Armed Forces and CAPF. More than 1100 youth of the region have been trained in 27 Skill Development Programmes in the last six months. The rally was inaugurated by 2IC Rampal Singh, Officiating Commandant in presence of village authorities, Bank and Police officials from Kangpokpi, Saparmaina, and Sekmai were also present. The Officiating Commandant on behalf of Commander Senapati Brigade and Commander of 10 Sector Assam Rifles reassured the Veterans and War Widows that Armed Forces will look into their welfare at all times. The focus of the rally was to resolve anomalies in disbursement of pension, land and legal cases being faced by the Veterans and their families. haping Future Naval Leadership S- The finals of Inter Squadron Rowing Championship which assesses team cohesion, stamina, endurance and morale of the participants commenced at 0730 Hrs from Kavvayi backwaters. The event was witnessed by Vice Admiral SV Bhokare, AVSM, YSM, NM, Commandant, INA, Officers, Instructors, families and Cadets of the Academy. Over 400 trainees took part in the championship with each of the six squadrons of the Academy fielding a team in five different A cadet of the Cheetah Squadron with the prestigious Inter Squadron Rowing categories. The event saw teams Championship Trophy competing in rowing over a distance of 2 km in Kavvayi backwaters on Coxed 4 / Coxed 8 class rowing boats. 20 Races were held during the championship. Cheetah Squadron emerged victors in the Inter Squadron Rowing Championship while Fighter and Daredevil Squadrons secured the Second and Third positions.
