2 Welcome All: Noted Introduction by the chair Hand over to Leon for the Twitter challenge . Leon asked those delegates attending that have a Twitter account to tweet throughout the meeting about all the presenters and any important information that should be shared with other businesses within Southampton, such as the Workplace grants etc. When tweeting please add: @WorkplaceTravel and @myjourneyhants  The delegate that tweeted the most about the day’s event will receive a £25 John Lewis shopping voucher and an emergency cycle kit worth over £100 for their workplace.

1. Dolly Gulliford (BBC) The BBC has recently applied for a Workplace Access Fund grant to install EV Charging Points for staff to utilise. In order to apply and receive the grant we

(with Leon’s support) have drafted a Travel Plan and completed a staff travel survey. We have also formed a Sustainable Travel Steering Group involving a number of senior members of staff. Leon attended our most recent meeting. The group discussed whether some staff need to travel at all, could we change company policy to enable more staff to work from home, and could operational staff receive assignments before commuting to Broadcasting House, preventing

unnecessary travel into the City. The group discovered that their senior Transport Correspondent (Paul Clifton) is a trained Smarter/Eco Driving Instructor. During the meeting Paul said he would be happy to train staff in how to drive smarter in order to ensure the companies pool vehicles are more eco- friendly.

g. Funding (Neil) The My Journey team have sourced further funding beyond the Department for Transport Access Fund 2017-2020 programme. We want to keep supporting local organisations. Further details will be announced once we have officially received the funds in the bank.

7 The English Coast Path in the Solent Sandra Unterhollenberg and Mary Andrew – Natural England Q: What is the England Coast Path? The Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, establishes the coastal access duty – to create; - A long-distance walking route around the English coast and - The coastal margin, land beside it, which should be accessible to the public of foot. In discharging this duty we follow statutory guidance – the Coastal Access Scheme. The England Coast Path will be a well way-marked 2,700 mile long National Trail. Investment in the Solent area £750k investment proposed for the stretch, which includes Southampton area. There are plans to upload the walking route to ‘Google Trekker’.
