KINF-AR-2013-Digital.Pdf COVER Programs of the Kids In Need Foundation Kids In Need National Network of Resource Centers Sponsored by Free stores for teachers in 32 cities nationwide provide free school supplies for the neediest students in the school districts they serve. They are the affiliates of the Kids In Need National Network. With the generous donations of many companies, Kids In Need was able to distribute more than $70 million worth of product to the National Network in 2013, providing supplies to nearly 120,000 teachers and 3.6 million kids. Teacher Grants Sponsored by The original Kids In Need Teacher Grants program and the Elmer’s Teacher Tool Kit grants awarded a combined total of more than $202,200 to 505 teachers across the country so they could conduct classroom projects that helped make learning interesting and fun. Approximately 40,500 students were the recipients of these unique experiences in 2013. School Ready Supplies Sponsored by Local Community Organizations & Corporations School Ready Supplies helps to provide school supplies to students in communities not served by Resource Centers. Through events sponsored by local organizations or national corporations, students are given free backpacks and supplies. In 2013, 26,685 kids found that being well equipped made going back to school pretty exciting and even fun! Second Responder® A national program that provides backpacks and school supplies to students who have been affected by natural disasters, Second Responder® was announced as a new official program of the Kids In Need Foundation in 2013. Kids In Need has provided this type of assistance to communities in the past, most notably after Hurricane Katrina. The program provided supplies to students in Moore, OK, Boulder, CO, area and to students affected by Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast in 2013. Welcome from Dave Smith, executive director of the Kids In Need Foundation. The 2013 Annual Report, which you’ll find within the pages of this 18-month calendar, not only states the facts and figures of how we fulfilled the mission of the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) ® . during the past year but, also, is one of the ways we acknowledge our donors and thank them s e v li for their belief that children should have the tools they need to do their work in the classroom. s ng ch gi oo an l supplies. ch Our mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. Therefore, one of our strategic goals is to serve more students, and in 2013, we increased the number of children served by 50 percent over 2012. One of the ways this was achieved was by welcoming three new free stores for teachers as affiliates of the National Network of Resource Centers and assisting the Centers already in the National Network to serve more students by distributing more product to them – more than $70 million worth in 2013 – that they can offer free to teachers for their students. Although we have offered relief to students and schools affected by disasters since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, we made this type of service an official program of KINF in 2013 with a program called Second Responder®. Last year, Second Responder® helped students affected by tornadoes in Moore, OK, and by flooding in the Boulder, CO, area, as well as students still feeling the effects of Hurricane Sandy on the east coast. Because of Second Responder®, students who have experienced devastating loss in the past can start to resume some semblance of their routine lives again by taking the supplies they need with them into the future. I speak on behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of KINF when I say your support means everything to us. It has made it possible to achieve all that is reviewed in this year’s Annual Report. Most importantly, you are responsible for KINF’s ability to help children who would otherwise do without the school supplies they need to succeed. Thank you. Sincerely, David H. • (ACU) Company Report – November 14, 2015 Acme United Corporation Is a Worldwide Supplier of Cutting Devices
Smallcaps Investment Research Acme United Corp. (ACU) Company Report – November 14, 2015 Acme United Corporation is a worldwide supplier of cutting devices, measuring instruments and first-aid products for school, home, office, industrial and hardware use. In the third quarter, ended September 30, 2015, Acme United achieved record back-to- school sales and record earnings. In addition, the Company is on course for a new annual sales and earnings record in 2015. Also 2016 looks very promising. The full optimization of the Company’s three first aid brands, will lead to cost savings of up to $1 million in 2016 and beyond. We also foresee plenty of growth for Acme’s other brands. Camillus, for example, is gaining market share with its knives, and camping & hunting gear. At Clauss, a number of market tests with large retail chains are ongoing with strong results so far. As for Westcott, we should start to see the full impact of the large Office Depot/Office Max scissors account for North America that Acme picked up a couple of months ago. Based on our outlook and calculations, we reiterate our buy recommendation for Acme United Corp. with a price target of $28.67, which is 68% above today’s stock price. The decline of the Canadian dollar and euro versus the U.S. dollar has stopped in recent months. Both segments are reducing costs with suppliers, trimming expenses, and increasing their selling prices to somewhat regain their margins. All these efforts should start to have a positive impact. The Cuda fishing tools brand has launched an entire line for fresh water fishing.

Robert J. DeSalvo Papers Business Combinations in the Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Industries 1944 - 1990 Collection #107 Abstract Robert J. DeSalvo’s research focused on business combinations (acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. This topic was the basis for his master’s thesis in pharmacy administration at the University of Pittsburgh and continued as a life-long interest. This collection consists of two series of notebooks that Dr. DeSalvo developed to record relevant business combinations. The first series records acquisitions, proposed acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures for the period of 1944 –1990 in an alphabetical arrangement. The information on these entries is cumulative so that the history of an organization is collected in one place. The second series of notebooks is arranged in chronological blocks. The information is arranged alphabetically by the name of the acquirer. The name of the acquired (merged), type of combination (acquisition, proposed acquisition, joint venture) and the date is also provided. The information is cross-referenced between the two series so that the researcher can approach the information by the name of the parent company or chronologically. Dr. DeSalvo used this resource for many of his publications as well as his master’s thesis. A copy of these publications and his thesis make up the remainder of the collection. Donor Gift of Barbara DeSalvo, 2000 Biography Robert James DeSalvo was born on July 20, 1933 in Toledo, OH. He died on January 23, 1993 in Cincinnati, OH. DeSalvo graduated from high school in Toledo and attended pharmacy school at the University of Toledo where he received his B.S.
