Dear Friend,

The Coca-Cola Company and its brands have been a force for good for more than 126 years across the world. This year, we celebrate two decades of being in India since our re-entry in 1993. This is a small yet significant milestone for our business. Since we returned to India, we have continued to not just grow our business and expand our portfolio of products, but also contributed to the growth and development of communities through our sustainability efforts.

Last quarter has been an eventful one for our business as well as for our sustainability efforts. We reported worldwide volume growth of 4% for the first quarter. In India, we gained volume and value share in NARTD beverages as well as in sparkling and still beverages in the quarter, reporting 8% growth. India sparkling beverage volume growth in the quarter was led by brand Coca-Cola, up 30%, and driven by strong integrated marketing campaigns like our “Crazy for Good” and continued to offer consumers relevant price and package size choices as well as promotions centered on “Coke with Meals”.

Even as we remained focused on our business, we continued to make a difference to the lives of the communities around us.

Season 2 of the Coca-Cola and NDTV “Support My School” has been gaining traction with partners like PLAN and World Vision joining the campaign. We hosted a 12 hour LIVE telethon to create awareness and raise funds to revitalize schools in India and we were overwhelmed by the response we received from celebrities, our partners and associates as well as from people across the country. We were able to raise pledges worth USD 2.5 million to further support our movement of building happy, healthy active schools.

We have now taken the Support My School initiative to Nepal and Bangladesh. Together with our campaign partners UNHABITAT, we hope to make a difference to schools in the region, by improving water and sanitation conditions, as well as developing recreational and environmental programs in the schools.

As a company, we have a long standing focus on water stewardship and undertake a number of measures to conserve water at our plants and in surrounding communities. We have begun a new journey with the launch of the ‘Water For Future’ project in one of our plants in Gujarat, that helps us conserve water through internal recycle and reuse processes. We hope to replicate this model in plants across India and progressively reduce our dependence of water from external sources. We also celebrated World Water Day with great enthusiasm across the region, involving students, community members and government stakeholders to increase awareness on water conservation and preservation.

Our commitment to healthy living has been continuing in India, and this year we took this promise to . For the first time we partnered with the Bhutan Football Federation to promote active living through the Coca-Cola Bhutan National League- a professional football league involving 6 different districts.

This year, we hope to engage with new partners and contribute to the betterment of our communities, while working towards achieving our goals for our 2020 Vision. I look forward to celebrate twenty years of playing a small part in India’s growth and making our portfolio of beverages, leading with Trademark Coca-Cola, an integral part of the India and South West Asia Business Unit.

Warm regards,

Atul Singh President and CEO, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia Business Unit
