Dr. Hay, a fan of the Northwoods and a frequent visitor to Land O’ Lakes, is speaking as part of the Land O’ Lakes Area Artisans, Inc. The title of Dr. Hay’s presentation is Shakespeare for Any Town USA: He’s Alive and He’s Talking About Us, and is intended to show the relevance of Shakespeare’s tales to life today. “The life situations about which Shakespeare wrote 400 years ago are the ones we still encounter today,” said Dr. Hay. “The lan- guage might be different but the stories are the same.” Of all the work he does, Dr. Hay says he most enjoys bringing an un- derstanding of the works of Shakespeare to the common man. No matter which path you take, be sure to take advantage of the complimentary bike stations set up to prep your bike as well as to maintain a healthy forest by helping keep down the spread of invasive species. There are 2 stations, one at the wayside on Hwy 45 just north of the WI/MI border, and one at the Ottawa Visitor Center parking lot. The stations were designed by Logan Jacisin of Troop 323, as part of his Eagle Scout project. Logan also organized his troop for 2 work days, one last fall to do most of the construc- tion, and one this summer to install the stations.
