Homework - Critiquing “Ancient” Film

Once upon a time, there was film and you had not been born yet. Oh yes, but there was film. And it won awards. But it still needed critiquing.

Assignment: Watch and critique any movie made before 1976. Yes, the color may not be as good, and you will not find advanced computer effects. Pretend computers do not exist and appreciate the beauty and skill of pre-digital film. Write a critique, using the same guidelines given in your movie review assignment. Acting, directing, story, etc.

Minimum: 1.5 pages hand-written/single spaced or 1.5 pages typed/double spaced on 8.5x11” paper with no fuzzy ages.

1. Pick a creative title (that is not the same as the title of the movie) 2. Give your opinion, overall 3. Name the movie 4. Summarize the plot 5. Technical and critique 6. Story critique: what worked well, what didn't, and why? 7. Rate the film & tell us who you would/wouldn’t recommend it to.
