14 NGALAYNGMANG www.jawoyn.org 15 40th celebrations Katherine is the epicentre of a region which is home to some of the Northern Territories most popular fishing waterways, including the Daly, the Roper and the Katherine Rivers. So it's not surprising that Rod and Rifle Tackle World Katherine is a mecca for passionate fishos and campers who come to the region in a quest to bag a barra or even attempt to catch the highly sought after "metrey", which for the uninitiated is a one-metre sized barramundi fish. Nitmiluk Tours was thrilled to join the well-known store to celebrate its 40th anniversary, which attracted hundreds of revellars to the event. Locals love the Lodge A special offer for Katherine locals to experience the Cicada Lodge dining experience has been extremely popular. At Cicada Lodge, diners are invited to taste, experience and enjoy native regional and Australian foods, incorporated into a fresh, contemporary menu. A key element of the Cicada dining adventure is the Chef’s Menu which features a specialty dish of the Chef’s choice, based on the season and the availability of quality local produce. Dining at Cicada is a unique experience and the award-winning restaurant has been exceptionally popular since the offer was opened. The offer has been extended across the wet season and will be available until the end of March 2020. Special Room Rates are available to all Territorians and valid until April 2020.

Summer Closing Times The Jawoyn Association will close from Friday December 20 and reopen Monday January 6. Nitmiluk Tours and the Visitors Centre will close on Christmas day but remain open for all other days over the summer. Cicada Lodge will be open on Christmas day for a festive lunch and dinner for in- house guests
