Scientists said that the expanding intelligence of our ancestors in turn helped them better co-operate and take down larger prey, such as mammoths, that they could share with a bigger group. Newsletter Christmas 2017
As we come up to Christmas we want to keep you up to date with all the many achievements and news that’s been happening across the Academy. TOP NEWS IN BRIEF Stage School – successful second season We have had a fantastic time filming the second season of the Channel 4 structured reality programme – Stage School. The six week broadcast has now finished and the feedback throughout has been extremely positive. This season has been especially lovely for us because our Theatre School was also involved. Many of our students and parents have told us how much they enjoyed watching the show. We were lucky this year to work with some incredible talent like the Vamps, Will Young, Amelia Lily and Mic Lowry. Some of our students are now in talks with respected music industry scouts who were introduced to them as part of the programme. Thank you to all of our wonderful D&B community for supporting this series and helping to make it such a success! Goodbye Christopher Robin A huge well done to D&B’s Will Tilston who proved he’s a natural in front of the camera and achieved rave reviews for his debut performance in the title role of Christopher Robin. The film delves into the life of author A.A. Milne and the wonder that is Winnie the Pooh that was inspired by his son - C.R. Milne. We were also thrilled that D&B’s Vincent Finch took a break from the Theatre playing Fat Sam in Bugsy Malone for his first taste of filming – playing the bully 'Big Boy’ in the film. -
