Johnson was a member of the Squirrels starting 4/21 @ALT rotation for most of 2017 before he pulled a hamstring which required him to spend a month on the disabled list. Johnson 4/22 @ALT finished the year with a 4-6 record and a 4.48 ERA. Johnson made 15 starts and appeared in 21 games for the Squirrels last 4/23 @BOW season. The right-hander was drafted by the Giants in the 23rd round of the 2014 MLB June draft out of Cal State North- 4/24 @BOW ridge. 4/25 @BOW 4/26 OFF Trenton’s Dillon Tate 4/27 vs HFD + 23-year-old right-hander Dillon Tate will be making his first start of the year and his fifth start in a Trenton Thunder jersey. 4/28 vs HFD Tate was originally drafted in the first round of the 2015 MLB June draft by the Texas Rangers out of UC Santa Barbara but 4/29 vs HFD was then acquired by the Yankees in a trade that sent Carlos Beltran to the Rangers in return for Tate, RHP Nick Green, and 4/30 vs ALT RHP Erik Swanson. Tate had a combined 7-2 record last season with a 2.81 ERA between High-A Tampa and Trenton AA.
