The GTSB is a subdivision of the Iowa Department of Public Safety and is responsible for the administration and management of federal funds awarded to Iowa through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for traffic safety programs. Each year, Congress allocates funds for reducing death and injuries on the nation’s roadway through state allocations. During FFY 2013, the GTSB managed 296 contracts totaling $ 6,474,507. Iowa Department of Public Safety Commissioner, Larry L. Noble, serves as the Governor’s Representative for Highway Safety.
