FIVE PROSPECTS TO PARTICIPATE IN 2021 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The ’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced that forwards (United States), Vladislav Firstov and Marat Khusnutdinov (Russia), Pavel Novak (Czech Republic) and (Austria) will participate in the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. The tournament will take place Dec. 25 - Jan. 5 in Edmonton, Alberta.

After a single round-robin series in each group, the top four teams from each group will advance to the Playoff Round and play a cross-over quarterfinal game Jan. 2. The first-place team in each preliminary-round group will play the fourth-place team in the other group and the second-place team will play the third-place team in the other group. The semifinals will take place Jan. 4 and the gold medal and bronze medal games will be played Jan. 5.

NHL Network is the exclusive television home of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship in the United States and will broadcast every game of the tournament.

Canada defeated Russia, 4-3, in the gold medal game and Sweden defeated Finland, 3-2, in the bronze medal contest at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic.
