WINNING TRADITION Heading into the 2020 campaign, the Aggies have 13 consecutive winning seasons. Texas A&M has posted a winning record in 57 of the last 59 years. FEBRUARY DOMINANCE The Aggies have been stellar in February the last seven seasons, logging a 57-5 mark the opening month since 2014, including 5-0 in 2020. Pepperdine accounted for two of the losses, including 2-1 in College Station in 2017 and 7-5 in Malibu in 2016. The other losses came against UIC (7-2) and Incarnate Word (6-5) in 2019 and Sacramento State (1-0) in 2014. TOP 10 PITCHING STAFF In 2019, the Aggies led the nation in K-to-BB ratio (3.33) and ranked second in strikeouts per nine innings (10.9), third in ERA (3.21), eighth in WHIP (1.21), 11th in hits allowed per nine innings (7.58), 10th in shutouts (6) and 25th in walks allowed per nine innings (3.27). Individually, ASA LACY paced the nation in hits allowed per nine innings (4.97) and ranked eighth in strikeouts per nine innings (13.20), 11th in strikeouts (130) and 33rd in ERA (2.13). John Doxakis ranked 27th in the nation in ERA (2.06), 27th in strikeouts (115) and 35th in WHIP (1.01). Kasey Kalich ranked 23rd in the nation in saves with 12. POST SEASON STREAK CONTINUES HEADING INTO 2020 Prior to the arrival of head coach ROB CHILDRESS, Texas A&M had never appeared in the NCAA Tournament more than four consecutive years. Last season’s College World Series run extended the Aggies’ current string to 13 consecutive years, something that had never happened before in the program’s 117-year history. Childress has led the Aggies to the postseason each of the last 13 seasons, topping the previous-high water mark of four-straight trips, a feat that had happened only twice before at Texas A&M. Former head coach Tom Chandler led his squad to the NCAA Regionals each season from 1975 to 1978 and 11 years later the Aggies enjoyed a similar four-year run from 1986-89 under the direction of head coach Mark Johnson. TOUGH TESTS SPANGLE THE 2020 SCHEDULE The Aggies face 13 opponents who made the 2019 NCAA Championship for a total of 31 games, including Arkansas (3), Army (3), Auburn (3), Florida (3), Georgia (3), LSU (3), Mississippi State (3), Ole Miss (3), Tennessee (3), Dallas Baptist, Illinois, Oklahoma State and UCLA. Forty of Texas A&M’s games are against teams that finished in the top 100 of the final RPI rankings in 2019, including 23 games against teams which finished in the RPI top 25. The Aggies play nine games against College World Series squads from 2019. The Aggies play four games against teams that won 50 or more games in 2019 and 21 games vs. teams that were victorious in 40 or more games.

Texas A&M is currently one of just 13 NCAA Division I programs to reach the 2,700-win plateau, entering play with a 2,737-1,528-43 mark. On May 1, 2016, the Aggies became the first SEC team to reach the 2,600-win mark with a 6-2 win at Arkansas. Texas A&M’s all-time winning percentage of .640 also leads the SEC and ranks 15th among NCAA Division I schools.

Oklahoma State 2,659 WEEKEND ROTATION The Aggies’ starting rotation was spectacular in the opening weekend. The Maroon & White rolled out ASA LACY, CHRISTIAN ROA and CHAN- DLER JOZWIAK and the trio combined to yield just three earned runs in 18.0 innings for a 1.50 ERA. They held the Miami RedHawks to a .117 batting average and posted a 0.61 WHIP with seven hits and four walks while striking out 27. Roa fanned a career-high 12 in his outing and Jozwiak allowed just one hit and one walk in his 6.0 innings. POWER SURGE The Aggies hit seven home runs the opening weekend, including two apiece by ZACH DELOACH, WILL FRIZZELL and LOGAN SARTORI. In 2019, the Maroon & White didn’t smack their seventh home run of the year until the 15th game of the season on March 6. The Aggies are already 1/6th of the way to their 2019 season tally of 42 dingers. Texas A&M launched multiple home runs in three consecutive games, a feat they did not accomplish a year ago. DEJA VU FOR DELOACH Although grossly overlooked in the various Player of the Week honors distributed throughout the country, ZACH DELOACH had a week to remem- ber in the season-opening series. He reached base in 11 of his 14 plate appearances, batting an SEC-best .778 (7-for-9) with seven runs, one double, two home runs, four walks and five RBI in the Aggies’ sweep of the Miami RedHawks, ranked No. 33 in the NCBWA poll. It was reminiscent of the week DeLoach had to open his career in 2018, when he earned SEC Rookie of the Week honors. That week, he batted .583 (7-for-12) with eight runs, five walks, one HBP, one double, two triples, one home run and four RBI in a sweep of Rhode Island. DELOACH’S HOT START CONTINUES ZACH DELOACH leads the nation in batting (.833) and ranks second in runs (11) and on-base percentage (.833), eighth in slugging percentage (1.500) and 10th in hits (10). The Aggie junior is 10-for-12 with two doubles, two home runs, five walks and one sacrifice fly. NON-CONFERENCE HOME DOMINANCE The Aggies are 97-8 in regular-season non-conference home games since 2015, including 5-0 in 2020. The highlight of the current run came in 2015 when Texas A&M went 22-0 against non-conference foes at Blue Bell Park in regular-season play. They went 18-1 in 2016, 18-2 in 2017, 19-1 in 2018 and 15-4 in 2019. Sam Houston State accounted for two of the losses, including 5-0 in 2016 and 8-2 in 2017. The other losses are against Pepperdine (2-1) in 2017, UT Arlington (5-1 - 18 inn.) in 2018 and UIC (7-2), Incarnate Word (6-5), Gonzaga (6-4) and Texas State (5-3) in 2019. THIRTY SOMETHING The Aggies hit 30 in the run column for the third time in school history in their victory against Prairie View A&M on February 19, coming up just two shy of the school record. The 30 runs was the most since 1991, when the Maroon and White defeated Westmont College 31-2. The Maroon & White plated 17 runs in the seventh inning against the Cornhuskers, while sending 21 batters to the plate. John Byington reached base three times in the inning, via hit-by-pitch, a single and a double. Chuck Knoblauch, Jim Neumann and Travis Williams lit up the scoreboard with home runs in the frame. Against the Panthers, the Aggies sent 22 batters to the plate. ZANE SCHIMDT went 3-for-3 in the inning with two singles and a double, while MASON CORBETT was able to reach base three times, via hit-by-pitch, a single and a double.
