The overcast and cool conditions did not dampen the spirits of spectators and participants at Arkengarthdale Sports on 4th June. A fantastic turnout of fancy dress and well attended tent entries made judging for Mr & Mrs Paul Brown and Mr & Mrs Greg Porter very difficult. The Joan Stubbs Memorial trophy for best fancy dress was awarded to William Barningham for „Prince William complete with his Search and Rescue Helicopter‟. The traditional races followed, including the Senior Fell Race won by Tom Hollingsworth. Once again there was brotherly rivalry in the Junior Fell Race with Daniel Winter winning and brother Sam coming a close second.
